@@tbprofile1295 to be honest, I never look at the date on any watch, just the time. I don’t recall it being any harder to see. The only thing I have noticed is that the lum markers are useless at night. Then again, not anything that really gets to me. It’s still a great looking watch on my wrist.

The Oris Rectangular has caught my eye the minute it appeared on Instagram and even Oris themselves have not made a better job than your video. Well done, Tom Yes, the red or the blue are watches I am very tempted to add to the collection as the brand has succeeded from the get go to release a model with its own personality, which does not look like a cheaper Reverso. It think it was about time Oris proved they were more than the Aquis, the 65 Diver and weird looking Propilot, but a proper independent watch brand with a rich catalog.

Love the video buddy, incredible, very well done. I think I gotta see it to believe the quality, I'm still on the fence. After having the seiko tank, to me that's already scratched the itch a little bit sorta (auto eta doesn't do a whole lot at this point), also that jlc has spoilt me a bit. 🤪

I'm a fan of square watches and definitely a fan of the Tank. There is something about it, must be one of the very few watches i can accept the Roman numerals on. Last year's introduction of the SolarBeat was a big break through in my opinion, would love to get that one. As for this Oris, i must say that the dimensions are spot on, but all the straps are not! Case design is really nice, especially the sides, the dial is a tad... meh... May be the 3 numerals, could live without them in fact. Personally i'd get the anthracite dial, always with a change of strap, for sure. White ain't bad either, rest two colour are not for me, although i like red dials... Thanks for another great vid Tom, be well mate. Cheers.

I agree with your comments on the white one, the tan one you show or a nice leather black strap would work wonders. I wonder who came up with the color Oris has on it now. Or if Oris offered a choice when purchasing the watch. I’ve been looking at adding a rectangular one and the Oris is probably my choice, but unsure of what color, I like the white, my wife prefers the gray/green one.

My favorite is the white too or maybe even the grey one, but as clear colors make things look bigger maybe the white is the right choice for me. I also believe that is the more masculine. I’ve heard that it wears like a 36 mm circular watch. Is that accurate?

@@BowlOfSalmon Watch arrived! One thing nobody mentions about this watch is, if you’re 50 or over you can’t make out the date at all! It’s hard to see even with 2.5x magnification! Otherwise it’s a real joy on wrist. Thin and lightweight. Anthracite dial is very grey- not black at all and the strap is far more green/olive than brown. Also, the movement is so small that the exhibition caseback wasn’t really needed. You can’t see very much. Looks great in photos at magnification though. Still- nice looking watch. Very refined look.

Interesting video, yes. Good looking watch, yes. Those straps, no. In search of an affordable alternative to the JLC/Cartier rectangulars, I've looked at Hamilton, Longines & Oris. If I'm going to buy a watch with the intent on changing the strap/bracelet then I'll go with the Longines Dolce Vita on bracelet which allows me to alternate, rather than the Oris in which any of these straps go straight into the trash can. It's too bad really because it's a great looking watch but at $300 less, the Longines Dolce Vita makes more sense.

Thanks for making this vid, like the live footage, appreciate that view of those watches. But.....Dude, stop harping on about masculinity. It's an elegant dress watch. It needs to be pretty, slide under a cuff and it needs to be discreetly elegant. All of that it seems to accomplish, even if I wish it was only 9mm thick. Again, thanks for the video, but this world certainly doesn't need more masculinity in it.
