No. Then you will have to say that for White Plains Road and the # 6 train line which is also elevated. This was mechanical failure or the driver dozed off.

Mistakes do happen.. no intoxicants in his system, give me another shot on a different route.. ..only seasoned drivers should be on that route. An underpass? ... in the Bx... Let the vets handle those.

That had to be the BX32 bus which is on Jerome Avenue at that point. Looks like mechanical failure. The bus went straight for the support beam.

Newer cars have collision awareness features, our buses should be equipped with modern features.

They do. They even retrofitted it to some of the older NYC MTA buses in the fleet. Some prison/school bus fleets option their busses with those features and 360 degree camera systems. I worked at an International truck/IC bus dealership in Queens and it was one of the options we installed and calibrated when new buses and trucks came in from the factory for their PDI. That being said, those devices are FAR FROM foolproof. Especially with these heavy vehicles. This bus more than likely does have that system and it didn't help

mta drivers used to be considered one of the best in the country. many ex bus nyc drivers had prestige outside of new york city and moved to other cities. there are now less experienced bus drivers and accidents around the city. back then it was less frequent.

Never got an official 100th anniversary celebration from the Transit Museum due to that damn coronavirus. Would have loved to seen what fleet of old subway cars might have passed by my stop in Parkchester.❤

That's the truth. Funny story.... Two years ago, I was driving on Jerome and there was a small black out. The traffic lights were out. I thought it was going to be insane on Jerome, but..... because there were no lights, people were behaving responsibly! They treated every intersection like it had a 4 way stop sign.
