Sorry but a NICU is Not one of the hardest nursing job but is the easiest of all the jobs that a Hospital Nurse can have. They have the lowest turnover of all Hospital nursing positions. NICU nurses are usually isolated from other hospital staff workers and have only 1 or 2 babies to care for and rocking chairs to sit in. Futhermore; the innocent and fragile new born babies they're caring for make no demands and can't do no any more than what that NICU nurse do for them. As a matter of facts, the hardest of all nursing jobs is that of the Medical\Surgical Floor Nurse who is constantly running back and forth on their feet 8 to 12 hrs a day, standing, liftiing, bending, dealing with demanding patients, family members, doctors, co-workers from many different cultures, ages, social economic background and different & difficult personalities of all kind. I hate to think if a nurse had done that to one of my babies and my husband was the one videotaping it! Not many males are capable of dealing with an irresponsible professional calmly after witnessing such abhorrent action against a poor newborn, innocent baby. Specially by the hands of those you pay for and put your trust on keeping your baby safe and taken care of when away from the parents… If you are not a patient, calm, loving person, don’t study to be a nurse. That’s absolutely the wrong job for that person. Hopefully, this incident has given an opportunity to stop, stay away from the hospital and come to the realization that nursing is not the right profession for them and for the patients.

I am retired, after caring for infants and children for nearly 40 years as a specialized nanny who cared for newborn preemies (twins and triplets), a preschool teacher for children with special needs, and for children who were abused. I had hoped to volunteer at my local hospital in the maternity ward, where I could hold fussy babies and rock them. I was told you have to volunteer for a year at a hospital (not in the maternity area) before you can be allowed to volunteer in the maternity ward. A year! That nurse should not be just fired. She should be arrested, charged with child abuse, and permanently lose her nursing license!!! 24 hour video cameras need to be in every maternity ward. No exceptions!!

If you see abuse to a child, you have to report it. Else you could be held liable later for not reporting it. The baby may not have been permanently injured, but the way his head snapped back, who knows. The hospital owes it to that baby & the parents. It needs ro send a clear message. But some hositals have hospital policies of not allowing moms to hold their babies, instead babies are only in charge of doctors and baby nurses, n mom is not invoved in her own childbirth process , her will is not asked or respected n she is not allowed to see, pat n breastfeed her own baby after baby comes out of her canal, the nurses take it away from below big white sheets wrapped on her over body (where new mother can't even understand that baby is out) directly to cribs room wo mother's notice Mostly it is even more common in Asia, That a woman is forced to keep feet in elevated stirrups and not even scream , after that the baby born is never showed to her until she is shifted to some diff room and her husband or mil bring that dressed up baby, show her for a while just and keep in a crib away from actual mother, Mother never knows she gave birth to what n is not allowed to get up n see baby until nurse or husband brings it in her room, and nurses also hand over baby to husbands immediately after birth rather than showing baby to actual woman thru whose body baby is born, Baby is secretly fed formula milk by docs , wo mother knowing, n mother is not given allowance to first chestfeeding in 1 hour and no women here have awareness that this is WRONG and UNNATURAL Forget abt nicu babies, when normal healthy mother n baby isn't left close to each other

@@Megan-cd6sh seeing you type God with a lower case g already shows me you have no respect for HIM but that’s between you and GOD. So, how do you know that nurse was slamming other babies were you there? Maybe she was having a bad day and took it out on that particular child and God spoke to that dad so he can catch her. Or let’s say she has a history how do you know God didn’t speak to the other parents but perhaps they didn’t listen like this dad did. Unless you were there stop speculating I know the God I serve apparently you don’t that’s the difference between a person who has a personal relationship with God and one who doesn’t.

This was absolutely heartbreaking and disgusting, at the same time. I'm so happy that the baby wasn't hurt. Even though, I can only imagine, how scared he was, when it happened. ☹️😡

My grandaunt always said it was a mistake to make the selection of nurses based only on academic achievements. I have seen many nurses that lack basic empathy. Would you prefer a nurse that will press water against your lips when you are ill or someone like that nurse.

Imagine if this wasn’t recorded, It would be his word against hers and she would most probably be believed 😕 So glad it was caught at the right time and absolutely deserves a sentence because YOU KNOW this has happened before.

Maybe new mother's should have the babies in their room all the time until they leave. There's no reason for them to be in the misery. Unless the mother asks them to watch them for any reason

I bet he is not the first!! I sure do hope he is the last baby she hurts. I watched Netflix "the good nurse" I hope she doesn't just go work at another hospital to continue doing this. Terminating her is not enough her license should be revoked.

It looks like she is not "Fit" to work in a Nursey & probably anywhere else in the hospital. For heaven's sake please don't put her in a Hospice Unit. 😉😉😉

What that person did was unconscionable. I'm so glad it appears your sweet baby is ok. I can't believe anyone caring for newborns could act that way. I have seen how professional and loving these nurses are and know they would have been horrified if they saw this.

*That’s insane and should result in her loss of licensure, along with termination.* She should NEVER care for a child again. My son’s NICU nurses were absolute angels - to him, to my husband, to my family, and to me. They cared for him when he was so sick, so fragile, so utterly helpless and completely dependent on not just their incredible expertise, but their love as well. They advocated for him - and for us - to the doctors when they felt he needed anything different. I still remember and love these ladies - 23 years later.
