So what? The state does nothing to discourage this. Homeless camps are popping up in even the most affluent cities. The cops and officials say they can't do anything about it in most cases. Sometimes, the camps are cleared out but they move a few blocks over. Meanwhile, taxpayers are moving out of state because of the cost of living and perceived high crime rate. @@ertfgghhhh you totally missed the point of my post. It’s not for or against bussing it’s about the hypocrisy of white liberal elites. But to your point… Being Latino, grown up in the projects and going to inner city schools from K-6th grade, then a foster kid and going to a 99.9% white school (that had bussing) from 7-12th grade, I can say with confidence that the contrast between inner city and suburban schools is astronomical. The main reason is lack of parental involvement and support. As an adult, I tutored inner city children in math and reading for years. We would sit in the back of a classroom and it would take the teacher more than half of the period just to get the kids to sit down and be quiet. The kids who wanted to learn were bullied and called Oreos, Uncle Toms or coconuts. The outcome for kids who are bussed is much better than those who are stuck in underperforming schools with kids who tease them for wanting to learn. Rather than allow school choice they keep lowering the bar and grading them on a different scale in some areas. Democrat run schools of course. Billions have been spent on inner city schools in my state and they’re all still underperforming. Dumping money into the schools will do nothing if the children don’t care about learning. Money is not the solution. Parents instilling the value of education is! I’ve seen the results of bussing and they’re promising.
