I lived there for nearly seven years. So many memories, some bad, but mostly good. I felt great peace living there and will never forget living, and working (I was a county park ranger) there. Beautiful in nature and environment, but I think for pure tropical beauty, Sanabel Island was the best. I miss Fort Myers, where I had many happy memories with my best friend. He's recently passed and I and his family will return from out of state to release his ashes into the gulf. I know when I return to Fort Myers, it will be bittersweet, but I'll always have those fond memories to remember and smile upon.

I grew up there in Ft.Myers, some 45 years ago. It was beautiful then, and looks to be the same today. Great city, great memories. Thank you for sharing this gem..

Love my city ❤️ I never knew how much I loved it till I moved away, took me a few years to move back. I'll Never move away again. To you who complain about it, maybe it's not your home. That's fine. But it doesn't make it any less perfect for the rest of us.

It’s crazy because I was born in Fort Myers but only lived there for about the first year of my life, but going back as a kid to visit my uncle it somehow always felt like home to me. It’s a great place.

The work by county wide high school students to buy the Six Mile Slough took two school years. I was part of that group. We made history by putting the ballot initiative on the 1976 ballot for the citizens to vote on and for the first time in Florida history a tax raising proposal passed in a presidential election year.

So the history of Ft Myers originated in the genocide of Seminole Native Americans. How sad. The tour was excellent. You covered all the major aspects, though I wish you had mentioned the work climate, what type of industry (besides sports) it supports, type of jobs out there. And please turn off the music which is really annoying when you have a speaker. Please do a tour of Miami as well. This was very good. Enjoyed the wildlife parks very much!
