That was wonderful, thanks Fred! So glad to see the Lost In Space tv spot! I was 5 years old when Lost In Space was Released, and I never missed an episode! I remember Christmas gifts of the Lost In Space Roto-Jet Gun and a complete miniature Jupiter Two complete with small figures of the entire cast, even the Robot! It had the Chariot that ran off of batteries. What a great Christmas year that was for a little kid. Thanks for resurrecting some of those memories!

Do you still have those toys, Dave?
@davek5027 Жыл бұрын
Geez, I wish! My Mom was pretty conscientious about disposing of “junk” around the house, and the Jupiter 2 was thrown out within a few years. The Laser Rifle, however , was a staple in my toy gun rotation lol. It was pretty cool because it looked exactly like the laser guns on the tv show!

Some familiar voices on those ads, like Gary Owens for Cowboy in Africa and Joanie Sommers for Pepsi, plus the ubiquitous Paul Frees does the voiceover in the Peanuts Ford Falcon ad. Also a lot of familiar faces like Jack Webb, Peter Falk and Darren McGavin too. Pinto Colvig as Goofy and Dick Tufeld as the announcer in the Soaky commercial. You always seem to include things I've never heard of or seen, and this time it's Coronado 9 with Rod Cameron and Shotgun Slade with Scott Brady. Thanks Fred!

Great look back, Fred. Had no idea the Stones did a Rice Krispies jingle. I remember how excited I was to see Lost in Space upon seeing the fall previews. It doesn't hold up at all, either scientifically or dramatically. Love the nostalgic feel of the other clips.

10:27 So out curiosity I looked up how much the Soaky Goofy and Pluto are going for and apparently you can snag one for around ten bucks American. I guess there were so many sold and they used a quality plastic they aren't rare at all. I pity the guy that had to write the script. Talking about "Pluto the Pup" and "Goofy" (the whatever).
@ernestcruz6316 Жыл бұрын
Your comment about Goofy reminded me of that comment by Wil Wheaton in Stand By Me: "...Mickey is a mouse, Donald is a duck and Pluto is a dog...but what the hell is Goofy?" A question for the ages I suppose.
@FIREBRAND38 Жыл бұрын
@@ernestcruz6316 I figured this would be beyond Wil Wheaton's grasp (I'm not a fan). Anyway, *Goofy* is an anthropomorphic or humanoid dog. He wears clothes, can talk, and walks on two legs and has hands but he co-exists in a fictional world where *Pluto* exists as a dog. You see, no one ever mentions that *Mickey Mouse's* long time nemesis *Black Pete* is a humanoid cat and he co-exists with *Minnie Mouse's* cat *Figaro.* Same thing with horses. In the short _El Gaucho Goofy_ we find cowboy *Goofy* riding on horses that co-exist with the humanoid horse, *Horace Horse Collar* who wears clothes, talks and has hands (and so on). Simple really. The problem is that it can't be answered while standing on one foot.
