Oh boy do I ever remember two of those products advertised in particular! Whenever I'd be home sick my my mom would make those instant Lipton chicken noodle soup mixes and I would inevitably get a scalded tongue on the boiling water! Also Score! She would comb that stuff into my brother's and my hair in the morning before school and you'd have to "crack it" once it dried a few hours later! Haha!

1:00 the irony of this clip is that there was an episode of Dudley DoRight where they spoofed Smokey the bear as Stokey the bear who was hypnotized by Snively Whiplash to set forest fires. Needless to say the National Park Service was not amused and complained to Jay Ward productions. As a result the episode was pulled and not again until Dudley do Right was released on DVD.

Born free sparked a story! LoL! We,right here in middle america had a baby mountain lion from an auction.....awful that they could do that looking back....but we raised it here in the city until it grew then we moved him to the country until he got old enough to breed and we found him a nature preserve in our state that had some other relocated mountain lions. He was a delight! Wish I was visiting u Fred we just got 11 inches of snow Tuesday and 11 to 13 coming tonight plus negative temps! Ugh!😢 Iowa winters suck!!!!
@FredFlix9 ай бұрын
High today will be 69, Chantelle, so c'mon down! Great lion tale and awesome that you treated him so well and knew what to do. We had a monkey my parents bought at the store but we was wild (surprise) and they didn't know how to handle him. So he spent his entire short life in a cage. Makes me sad to this day. His name was Magilla.
@ChantelleBrown-fb7gy9 ай бұрын
@@FredFlix FRED.......69? I wish I could send you a pic......we just got 11 inches followed by like 8 more! It was state mandated no one leave the house yesterday unless you were law or medical! It is 4 degrees with a wind chill of 19 below. I'd give anything to be able to winter elsewhere! I am not built to shovel! Five feet tall and a 112 pounds.....my center of gravity and a shovel full of snow don't sync up! Not to mention I'm lacking in strength! LoL! The bookstore I run is not opening today but I'm going to sit here and pout about your 69 degrees! Lucky man! I'm sorry for your 🐒 Magilla. Things were different back then!Have a lovely not snowed in weekend Fred!:)

* Anything with Red Buttons, Ted Bissell, Marshall Thompson, or any animal that could be hurt (such as in Born Free) was a ticket to a speedy channel change. * Anything with Bobby Darin was deemed a must watch (even on The George Burns Show). * Don't remember the TV show The Asphalt Jungle just the movie which got a thumbs down. Jack Warden, the lead in the TV show, was a superb actor. See Heaven Can Wait from around 1978. * Sonny and Cher (and later just Cher) were terrific. The show was headed by George Schlatter who must have had a hand in every TV show. S&C captured my junior high school with "I Got You Babe" in those revolting fur vests and soon to catch on bellbottoms (but NOT at our city's no pants on girls of any kind school system). Later in their glam TV and live performance days Cher wore costumes by Bob Mackie who used to throw beautiful fabric on Cher and start cutting away until it was just about too much. I have no idea why anyone thought Cher couldn't act. Those "Vamp, Camp, and a bit of a Tramp" routines were really good. * The only memories I have of the AFL were that they lost every game they played against the NFL. And Broadway Joe with broken knees wearing pantyhose. He's selling hearing aids now.
@FredFlix9 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment, Martha. But the AFL won more than you recall. They played against the NFL in the first four Super Bowls (before the two leagues merged) and won games 3 and 4, with Broadway Joe -- pantyhose notwithstanding --- leading the way in game 3.
