What a great surprise at the end, Fred! _Secret Agent_ starring Patrick McGoohan as John Drake. I used to watch reruns of Thriller as a kid since it aired in two seasons from 1960-62. One of the things that struck me with Karloff as host, he didn't play it like Rod Serling in _The Twilight Zone_ but, rather as someone in the same world as the story. There was one episode where he was giving his intro to that night's story and there was a thunderclap that made him as the host turn and look around as though he was really startled. As you can tell, he really made an impression.
@FredFlix9 ай бұрын
And, as I'm sure you know, Firebrand, Karloff also starred in some of the episodes. How interesting it would have been if Serling had done that with TZ, although they would almost certainly have been comedic episodes.

Thanks for this trip of our lives Flashback Fred! Hard to believe with the way ppl are so sensitive now, that there was a show called "Karen", wasn't it about Karen Valentine? It definitely would have to be retitled, to placate those who call other women 'Karens' today! Lol

But no picture of Patrick MacGoohan as Secret Agent Man? I had a big crush on him starting with "The Scarecrow of Romney Ridge" on The Walt Disney Show which was never in the wonderful world of color in my home. My mom liked the theme song to Secret Agent Man, sung by the great Johnny Rivers. But she always thought that the title of the song and the show was "Secret Asian Man".

Love the look back, Fred. It's a funny thing about Thriller. I tried watching several episodes of it on MeTV, and there was no supernatural content at all. It seemed rather dull to me. They must have changed the emphasis in later episodes. Never tasted Ovaltine. It was always Nestle's Quick, usually chocolate, but I also loved strawberry.
@FredFlix9 ай бұрын
I think Thriller alternated crime with supernatural every other week or so, Robert, but I don't think that approach worked.
