He used the princess to hold a crank open and just flat out smashed and chucked folks off ledges and ropes so he could move forward. Modern Kratos, matured and controlled as he is, would likely try his best to avoid it or put extra energy into using fewer collateral methods. However, he is still the god of war, and I don't see him doing this if his buttons are REALLY pushed

I love how when we first play as Atreus, he tries to imitate Kratos’ blunt strategies when navigating the world. It shows how much he’s come to idolize his father since the first game.
