All these seemingly "minor" stories hit quite hart. I remember that one dude with his wife from Jackson who disappeared and never came back because they were bitten. He then killed his wife but was too scared of killing himself, so he turned. Man.

It’s crazy the parallel to Boris and Ellie’s story. He let his drive for revenge lead to killing everyone he knows and turning himself, Ellie reads his story and how it caused him nothing but defeat and still continues on the exact same path. Ultimately ending the same way, losing Dina and being bitten by Abby now having nobody just like Boris

Try to paint this game as a story of "good guys who are good and deserve good things vs bad guys who are bad and deserve bad things" after playing it misses the point completely. In this game (and TLOU1) "good people" do bad things and bad people do good things. Ellie in some cases is a loving, caring friend but when pushed hard enough she can be an extremelly cruel killer. Abby is the same. Joel was, too.

Much as we like Ellie, and even see what is happening to her, we don't face that a smart-alecky teen age girl becomes a monomaniacal killer. When she kills Nora, you almost heard the "Kill Bill" (aka the old tv show "Ironside") trigger music for Beatrix Kiddo. An incredibly sophisticated, even sly, game as it draws you into its characters. And has far more involved back stories. Plus some pretty engaging gameplay. As for the "Abby hate", well, having identified her father's killer (I won't say "murderer" as we know here is more to it), she should have ... what? Notified law enforcement? Maybe the FBI? The idea here is that this is probably similar to what happened on the fringes of the Roman Empire as the Western Empire was failing and local chieftains were gaining control. As the Ancient World became the Medieval one. Oh well. Just a thought.

That's why I love games like TLOU, they want you to explore their world, they want you tô feel part of It ir even go back in time. In the other hand, one of the games that people praise for using the same technique but I find that lacks passion is Dark Souls, especially 3.

@@emoellieroks With TLoU2, I did think about having to just speedrun the whole goddamn thing. The point of the speedrunners that it's just so expansive that it cuts the flow or the “sensation/thrill” you might say. Well, I am still torn about speedrunning games because this kind of small narratives within the game are also interesting especially some of them are the early period of the post-outbreak. And I am also thinking to speedrun any Naughty dog games from now on. It seems to me that after TLoU2, I think they are going to the direction of creating a very expansive world.

Naughty should’ve done something similar to what Resident Evil 2 Remake did. Make something like Ghost Survivors, with every side story in TLOU series playable. Maybe some stories could show us the down fall of the world during the beginning of the QZs and evacuation zones. Maybe some about escaping the city during riots, etc. It would be a fun addition, and I would have no problem paying money for something like this.

I would love to see a DLC of Boris. This is one of my favorite stories from TLOU2. I felt really bad when I found him. Part of me wanted him to get away. This kind of reminded me of Ish's story on the first game. I was so invested in finding more notes about the event.

I've not read anything confirming this but the name 'Boris Legasov' seems to be a reference to the HBO miniseries 'Chernobyl'. The 2 leads in that show are Valery LEGASOV (Jared Harris) and BORIS Shcherbina (Stellen Skarsgard). The combination of the names could nod towards The Last of Us having it's own HBO miniseries in production, which is being co-written by the same guy who wrote Chernobyl (Craig Mazin)

Same, I loved it, I didn't always like it though. I found myself so immersed in the game play, the story and all the side stories. It took me a while to get into playing as Abby but I eventually did. It's definitely a rollercoaster, I only just finished it so I'm feeling a bit weird right now, it's definitely the most intense game I think I've played and that's not a bad thing.

It’s amazing! The bad reviews comes from die hard fans that just wanted a one dimensional villain and Ellie to kill off Abby for revenge that’s all. My turning point for Abby came when she carried yara with her strong arms and ran to safety. I was like 🤩 . And oh man that sky building walk was amazing. Abby is a character that keeps showing growth and so much depth. Just love her after that. But I feel very sad at Ellie ending- I hope she found Dina back at Jackson and leave happily ever after

If you're consdiering what to cover next, the story of Jules and Gray lasts across multiple days and is one of the more sprawling sub narratives. It would take some serious time to find them all and string them together but it's definitely worth it.

Hillcrest was one of my favourite sections of the game. It introduces the dogs, it blends combat with exploration perfectly and it's just the right length. I also love how you find documents of little stories and past factions of the area in these games. It makes the world of the last of us feel alive and historic.

That build up to encountering Boris was pretty intense. I knew we were gonna get the bow from him eventually as soon as I saw his archery trophy and then the mini story kept building up from there, culminating in a great fight sequence. It might be under appreciated but these little things really make a greater whole.

I thought he was a random guy, too. I was following Boris's story, but I didn't think they'd actually make him into an infected. Didn't even realize he got bit. Wasn't he just attacked by his friend when he locked them in the room? They weren't infected yet- unless Uriel was the first one he put inside, and then he became infected in the time he brought in the others one by one.

@Jojo Momo Uriel is the one who bit him. From what I gather, he put them in the garage one by one. Uriel must have been the first, so he was quickly infected by the spores. Then while Boris was putting in his last victim, Uriel attacked.

How come the people who were locked up only turned into runners, while Boris was bit/infected after them but was a stalker. Also towards the end of the vid when Ellie was fending off the locked away runners, a runner wore a backpack and dress in WLF colours. Boris might have poisoned Uli while he was meeting with WLF.

It’s a plot hole, it’s the same reason why the ground zero hospital area where the rat king resides has stalkers instead of bloaters. If they were all clickers/bloaters it would make the game way too hard mechanically from a player standpoint, hence why they’re runners instead.

how are they trapped for years if they are runners when you find them? Runners are a fresh stage of infection

Yeah, I don't think it was years later. It could have been a few weeks since Boris is a stalker but then again the people he locked in the garage are runners which doesn't make sense. If it was years later they would all be clickers. It could have been just that the developers messed up or they simply didn't care much about how accurate this was because they just wanted you to enjoy the lore and feel a level of intensity encountering them in that garage since runners are faster.

Sophie Kerr actually in the Neighborhood with Sam and Henry you can find a final note from Ish. He got out with a few kids and Kyle’s wife. He said that he would keep himself alive to keep them alive for as long as he could. I

I remember in the second half of day 2 (Ellie tracking Nora) Ellie can find a skeleton of a woman that was hung in a building - across from the bar full of clickers. You actually use the rope used to hang her to enter a locked room. Turns out the woman was sick and waiting for someone to bring her medicine - but the scars found her and presumably gutted and hung her. Her name was Paige Later in the day... In another secret room Ellie can find the skeleton of a man next to a stash of pills with a note saying that he encountered scars and was shot and bleeding out. He couldn't make it back to his wife Paige and encouraged whoever finds him to take the medicine to her... He also mentions that she's pregnant - which is something her note did not. These two secret rooms are like 2 hours apart and once I made the connection I was like "aw damn those fuckers really gutted a pregnant woman and hung her AND the both died because of scars" It's not a story that's made super obvious like Boris's story... but I just found it to be pretty damn sad

I dnt think the "come get me assholes" is from boris pretty sure that's Tommy. It's to fresh and the humvee clearly wasnt there long. Seeing as boris and the others seem to have been dead for a while.
