I heard way better the sound of the Shure than the sound of the Rode. The Rode has more digital features but for me the audio quality is better in the Shure. Thanks for the vid!

I think if he had adjusted the camera settings after changing the gain on the Rode, it probably would have sounded better.

Having tested the VP83F/83 and the Rode Videomic Pro/Pro Plus, what would be your choice between all four if sound quality was the only criteria?

Rode Videomic Pro Plus sounds the best to me.

I am a fan of the VMP+ since I saw your video. Did you find a furry wind cover (dead cat) for the VMP+? The regular furry wind cover is too small for the VMP+, sadly.

Can a mic like a Tascam dr40 or Zoom H2 be used at a boom mic for camera? Would there be a difference in sound quality?
@VideoGizmology6 жыл бұрын
Do not use a Tascam DR40 or Zoom H2 as a boom mic unless you have nothing else. The sound quality will be better than your onboard camera mics, but a DR40 or Zoom H2 have different mic capsules inside that are not very directional. Boom mics are directional with the better ones allowing a lot of off axis rejection.

great video, thanks, could you do a comparison between the Video Mic Pro and the Video Mic Pro +
@VideoGizmology7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I no longer own the Videomic Pro. To me the audio quality is the same. The differences are all the digital features you get with the Plus. The auto power, new battery system, safety track, low pass filter are all upgrades. BUT I couldn't really tell the difference in audio quality between the two.

the audio quality difference was going to be my question, so now you have answered it! again great video, thanks

Hi, I heard test between vmp and vmp+ and it’s the same sound quality, the difference is the size and some features that’s it!

Reference to an unknown camera while reviewing microphones is confusing.
@VideoGizmology6 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the camera I tested the audio on? I put the camera model in the description of this video and I also said the camera model in my video. Hope that is not confusing for you.
