Man, I miss powerkiting. I had a couple of 6' stackers (back when that was the only size Flexifoil made) when I was in my early teens, and I'd do little hops on the beach. I also had a demonically powerful FF Stranger delta, which even after lengthening the trailing end of the bridle as far as I dared without it slipping out of the sky, pulled harder than any other two-line kite I ever handled. I gave up on that after about 6 attempts at flying it. I briefly owned a Revolution II, but got quite bored with it. Much prefered the speed of a stacker. They were all nicked out of my car about 15 years ago. I'm tempted to buy a stacker again, for old times' sake...

@Felixketchup777 after a lot of reading and taking one lesson from a kite trainer, I bought a flexifoil 4.9m blade. I am told that my size will do with anything from 3.5-5m. the smaller the kite the closer to the centre you need to be to generate the lift, but that also generates speed,

@theofficialstig i would say, take a nice 3/4m 4 lines kite 2m is just small and it wont lift you up much unless the wind is extreme but you will ruin your kite then. Your wieght is to low for a 5m+ I would say anything between 3m and 5m is good. Always take a 4 liner btw ;)

@Felixketchup777 ,not sure if had a reply yet (3months on!) but I have the same hight as you and weigh 84kg. I used the 2.5m trainer and did a lot of reading. the end product after a whole summer is...you will not jump or get dragged with this. even in 30mph wind i had a 2second jump.

@Felixketchup777 not nice. so I got the 4.9m and went out last weekend. Well, I did very well taking it between 11-1 oclock ( I did not have the courage to go to 9-2oclock) wind speed 10-13mph will be good enough. hope that helps

it is very dependent on the wind speed mate, im 210 and i can jump with a 4.5 of windy days and and 8.5 on almost no wind days. also the shape of the kite makes alot of difference i would advise buying smaller and work up. maybe try finding local kiters to you and ask if you can have a go, most of us are friendly :)

I got a beamer 4m a while back for my first kite, I thought it would be hard to get used to but after the second time using it I was ready for a bigger kite, the beamer 4m is crap for jumping, only works in quite strong winds!

@TheDisturbed11 1. yeah I have a 4m², from an 4-7 bft, u can perform some very decent jumps! somewhat like 5-20meters. i think somewhat of 20mph = 5bft 2. 25meters + space to jump, easily 40meter; cause if the kite drags you forth, so approx. 65m 3. practice dude, practice, friend of mine broke arm + shoulder, so be carefull 4. a day or 3 and u can hadle it pretty well 5. dunno 6. depends on size kite, best kite is somewhat 5m²

Im looking at buying a powerkite im 13 and weigh 50kg ive used my mates 2.1 m kite and i can handle it well what is the biggest size kite i could get without being slammed into a tree i dont live in a very windy area and if you can reply to help me it would be very much apprexiatedCan some one give me some advice?

I would say if you want handles then a 2.5-3.5 flexi bullet would be good or if you want to go a little expensive then go for a depower foil Flysufer viron 4-6m remember if you get into trouble on a depower hit the safety or if you get into trouble on handles let go (if you wear KITE KILLERS)
