Whenever I hear mr Chopra saying about boss I just try to think what he had to go through even after giving such wonderful treasures to us. I remember looking for the cassette of Shiva ka insaaf just for the title song and it was not available just after a week of the films release. This was the bad time for genius called R D BURMAN. He gave wonderful songs but none clicked then but today people search for those songs but that music is gone forever.

This is a learning lesson for of us. Hard times are bound to come but clinging on to life and manage to get past those difficult times is what we need. And always remember 'we are the best' but the time is not in our favor. Rd Burman would have give many more bigger hits he were alive.

Vidhu vinod Chopra is very much passionate for his film. I don't know about other films but 1942 love story KE liye toh bhut hi jyada serious tha. Believe me if I m in his place I will not be able to say like that to Rd burman. *ACCORDING TO ME* people love ar rahman, Pritam, etc. is ok, but today's generation loves R.D. Burman music is different. As many of us were born after his death. 60%-70% of music of kishore kumar listen in today's time is of R.D. Burman only. This is called the legacy.

Vidhu, when Pancham Da was alive why you did not mention?? Please note that the "Roop Tera Mastana" in Aradhana was first composed by SDB in Comilla bhatiyali tune. It is Kishore Da who convinced SDB and changed the tune with one of SDB's old composition "Jabo Ami Shoshur bari" in Bengali and finally the existing tune we received. So there may be some changes based on the situation and requirement. So please stop to malign Pancham Da as you are not at par with him.

Amit kumar also said that Pandit Bhimsen Joshi once said he liked Kishore kumar songs a lot but Amit kumar said this after Bhimsen Joshi's death, so there is none to verify 😀

Vinod, I admire you a lot for your films like "Khamosh", "Parinda" which are exemplary. Your fourth film "1942:A Love Story" got noticed primarily because of its finest musical score by the legendary composer Rahul Dev Burman. Your approach to every aspect of filmmaking is worth taking note and inspiring to upcoming filmmakers.But your criticism about this legendary composer are just difficult to digest as it is like written afterwards. Around the time of release of 1942, you gave an interview to a magazine where you clearly mentioned that for each song situation Dada would compose about 4-5 tunes then select one and nourish it further. Then how come this story of Dada singing some absurd tune and convincing you to keep it started making waves? Moreover , you criticize genius people like Rahul Dev Burman in this case, and appreciate some real bullshit composer like Rochak Kohli ?

This Bugger never really had a level to be talking to not just a senior, nor just legend.. but one of the finest ever icon artists of Indian cinematic music RD Burman like this. I highly doubt the authenticity of how boisterous he sounds casting a projection of himself like a percectionist seeker and a passionate taskmaster, a trait that his assistant and to be director latet, Sanjay Bhansali has also emulated, both being known for big mouths and work not as big in true quality To be frank, I believe that 1942 a love story is a film would have collapsed without the music of RD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
