The Vienna Game is an attacking opening. Playing g3 and going into the Mieses Variation is the positional way to play it. It avoids most of the early tactical complications and it's white's attempt to play for small positional imbalances.

Perfect timing! i started playing this system a few weeks ago, because it seemed super easy to play and I like opening with the fiancettoed bishop. But I couln't find really good information online. Thanks.

Around 11:40, you suggest Re1, but doesn't that run into Be7, retreating the bishop and removing the threat of a pin?
