I visit Vienna every year and my first place to dine is Cafe Central. I could eat every meal there and sometimes I do.

It’s our favourite and it’s an absolute must visit. 😍

I’ve always heard Demel mentioned in the same breath as Sacher… maybe another day trip is in order!

Yes, that would have been our next one if we’d have had more time and space to fit another piece of cake in 😂 Oh well, like you say hopefully they’ll be a next time 🤞 Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Great places and I’ve managed to visit one. But no matter how good, I’m put off by having to queue. There are numerous similar places in Vienna, some more welcoming too.

@@kencarruthers6714 I agree. There is a huge choice and dozens of great cafes. I had to pick three that an average tourist might find interesting though. 🙂

Love your videos, including this one. Gentle criticism: I’m on a quixotic quest to excise the incorrect use of the word “infamous”, which is in the thumb nail. These cafes are famous, they’re interesting, but they’re NOT infamous. To be infamous, it needs to be known for some bad quality like how December 7 here in the US is a day that will live in infamy. I know that Cafe Central hosted infamous people but isn’t itself infamous. Finally, I’ve been to all three. They’re all wonderful. Cafe Central is the best!!!!
@visitwithus12 күн бұрын
Haha! You're right. Perhaps the word 'Infamous' was a little inaccurate, so we've now changed it. We certainly don't want to mislead or misinform. We agree though, Cafe Central is our favourite AND it DID host some pretty infamous people over the years!

I'm curious what time you filmed. A few weeks ago I walked by Cafe Central at mid-afternoon (perhaps 2 or 3 p.m.) and the line out the door was easily three times as long as shown in your video!
@pomme80016 күн бұрын
A few weeks ago was Prime Holiday Season......... with many tourists and visitors in town...this was clearly filmed in warm weather, early fall ( look at the clothes people are wearing) as they were on a river cruise...
@visitwithus16 күн бұрын
We were there earlier in the year and went back again a few weeks ago. Most of the footage is from when we were there in May when it was quieter than in ‘Christmas markets’ season.

They certainly are among the best if you want to experience the look of old Vienna though at certain times of the year you probably won’t see/hear any Viennese there. 😊

This video was way too appetizing. Now, I just want a big bucket of caffè with all the sweet and foamy trimmings. As if the architecture and design of these intriguingly historic places aren’t appetizing enough as it is. Marlene Dietrich? For some reason, that name intrigues me the most. Lili Marlene.

So I was 40 years old before I learned this and had to have it pointed out by my 14 year old daughter who is obviously smarter than me, but infamous means famous for being or doing something evil, not “super” famous. It’s a pretty common misuse of the word. But hey, you learn something new everyday. Unless of course these are three evil cafes.😂.
@visitwithus16 күн бұрын
Haha, you are right and even though they had some notorious clientele it probably was a little too strong a word to use. Changed the title to ‘interesting’ which is hopefully more appropriate. Thanks for watching and for the comment 👍

"Sak-er" is how I've been told to pronounce it.
@visitwithus11 күн бұрын
You are absolutely right. We always default to “sh” to pronounce the “ch” because our surname has exactly the same pronounciation and it’s habit. It should indeed be sak-er. 😊
