On top of that, we have only had a 2 week camp and no friendlies, our last match was against Qatar that was a WC qualifier where the coach had to experiment by putting less experienced players. He kept telling me we (Netherlands) stole one of their players Tijani Reijnders. So I asked him politely, why? Since Reijnders is born and raised here + he wears a Dutch last name due to his Dutch father. His answer was that since reijnders has an Indonesian mom who’s married to a Dutch man, this makes the Dutch man also partly Indonesian since he’s married to her. Sure we sometimes have some mixed indo with Dutch players here, and Indonesia should defo keep an eye on them. Bit imo it’s a bit desperate and silly to take those boys in even over younger players from domestic leagues. Or naturalizing old players like the Spanish defender… Those 2 youngsters from ado and Utrecht are completely unknown here and not even regular starters at the youth teams.. Struick (Ado u21) has been one of our best attackers recently despite him being unknown there, same with Ivar (Jong Utrecht) hes one of our best midfielder. We also have recently naturalized more established player in their prime like Maarten Paes and Thom Haye also getting a solid Wolves u23 prospect in Hubner. That old spanish defender has been okay but hes mistake prone. And most Indonesians has accepted Reijnders was never gonna represent Indonesia, hes way too good for us lol

We have no monthly camps, instead end the ISL just 10 days before the tournament, then host a low level competition DURING THE AFC ASIAN CUP. It's like the English FA conducting the FA Cup during the UEFA euros. And we have no practice and warm up matches against strong teams like japan and Saudi so that would leave the national team in a frenzy, unable to guess how strong our opponents will be. Hopefully I find some time to tune in to your watch alongs, this isn't the AFF, so I'm rooting for all the Southeast Asian teams as a Thai and I hope you'll do some of the watch alongs for Thailand also. We had our friendly against Japan recently and we defended decently in the first half (albeit, literally ONLY defended) and then the 2nd half, we made changes and just got demolished but our physicality and fitness is lacking again. However, this was Japan and we have a new coach so perhaps with time, things will look good.
