You're right. TSN is overloaded now so they plan to expand first before construction of Long Thanh airport about 20 km away from Saigon which will be the biggest airport hub with capacity to handle up to 100 million passengers per year.

the tan son nhat allway been a half military half civilian airport like every airport in vietnam :) but yes it is the same airport , the military base ( aka fighter bungker ) been destroy and replace by parking lot for plane + new terminal ( aka the international ) the old international terminal and the domestic merged into one and become the new domestic terminal ( which suck vs the new international terminal , cause the domestic used the old international terminal which is old) i still like tan san nhat cause it really near the central of HCM city , long khanh is abit far and the project cost alot + maybe tan san nhat can become fully domestic airport and long khanh can be only international

Lounge was terrible really awful and cheap but flight looked good but basic service not bad at all

I give it 3 stars. The sped up takeoff and landing was annoying . Otherwise it was decent. The service didn't look that grand, and the lounge at LHR was shabby.
