Vietnam's Amazing Night Street Food Ho Chi Minh City - Under $1: Bánh Xèo, Bbò Lá Lốt, Hột Vịt Lộn

Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam in general offers such amazing restaurants and even some over the top buffets that are simply incredible. But sometime the tastiest treats are found from the corner vendors and hawkers that are scattered throughout the streets and alleys of city.
But the catch is that you have to find them. And thankfully, I had Chau to help me navigate the culinary map of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and from some incredible traditional foods such as Bánh Xèo over in District 5 to some amazing and adventurous delights in District 10's famous Street for Street Food at night called Ho Thi Ky Street. This is the place to go and explore. From the tasty Betal Leaf Beef skewers to the innards, offals, an even something called a hachick egg.
Incredbily fun to get out of one's comfort zone and find something tasty and new! If you're visiting Saigon, give it try! Fun to spend an evening exploring!

Oh wonderful. I was fortunate enough to sample the real deal when i was dating a Vietnamese man. Fabulous cook. We'd shop at the Vietnamese grocer..he'd cook and his sister would spend all day cooking Vietnamese dishes. Treasured memories...yum.

Thank you Tim for a wonderful collection of food reports from Vietnam. I just wish we could get a wider variety of Vietnamese dishes in the restaurants in Canada. I have been to Vietnam twice, once travelling from North to South for 30 days, enjoying the food tremendously. I even had a woman make a little fire beside me on a beach, to cook fresh fish for my lunch. Four course dinners in Hoi An with a view of the river. I love all of your buffet adventures. it all looks so good...well except :) ...when I ever i hear someone talking about balut it reminds me of my great uncle he was from the Philippines and when ever we went to their house for BBQs or some celebration or another he would be in the back yard with some of his pals (gambling) or in the garage with some of his pals (gambling) trying to convince the various little kids there to try balut from the spread they were working on ..he never did get me to try it
