Your pronunciation is perfect and you got the two dialects correct. I applaud you so much for taking time out to do this. You seem like you've invested so much interest and passion for another country and that truly is admirable. Thank you for that, your work is much appreciated :) - A Viet Appreciating your Work

Mark is a natural born teacher. I like his presentation. I like the way he explains all the little dots and strokes above and below the letters. I like also that he gets compliments from native speakers on his pronunciation. G'donya Mark. I hope you have part III in the pipeline.

These lessons are wonderful, having the subtitle added is such a big help because the way I’ve been learning is by sounds alone and having the text along with it is fantastic because it’s getting a better grasp on what the word is. Thanks VERY much for doing these this way

Thank you for your videos! I've been in Viet Nam for five years and haven't been able to adopt the language. I've watched other teaching channels, but gained very little. From yours, however, I've been able to retain quite a bit more. Regarding hesitancy to express dislike for any food, what I've experienced follows: A Vietnamese friend in Vinh, Nghe An joined me at the province's best restaurant, American Steak, for a meal. He struggled through the curry, but refused to admit he didn't like it. l told him I'd eat it and he could get something else, but he insisted on finishing it. Me: You don't like that, do you? Them: Yes, I like it a little bit.

Thank you for this video! I've been in Viet Nam for over three years, thought Hue was really interesting (especially the Citadel) and find the language difficult (at best) to learn, yet your videos make it easy. I know that regional dialects impact the language, almost to the point that a citizen from one region may not be understood in another. How universally understood and used are the phrases you cover in this video? Most of the other videos on KZbin are difficult to follow, I wish you made more. Do you have a source you recommend for learning the language?

Dear Mark Bowyer, My name is Sen and I'm vietnamese. I'm so happy with your channel. you were bring vnese language to foreigners who want to learn vnese language and I just watch all the video for part 2 . You're corrected pronunciation and the meaning of the word in this video but only incorrect with the sentence "chúc ngủ ngon " b/c the word "ngon" in this sentence. It's not mean delicious in the food. It's mean sleep well or sweet dream. So pls carefully with this situation :) :)
