Hope you enjoyed the new video. Hmmm... videos on the mine run and passenger ops -- sounds like a good idea. I'll add them to the "to do" list. Stay tuned.

How's this for a late reply??? For some reason, KZbin didn't notify me of your feedback. I just saw it today. Glad you've enjoyed all of the ops videos. And thanks for visiting the Willow Creek!

Do you use a different color block around the train number to indicate East from West travel??
@Vigment137 жыл бұрын
No, I don't. The Train Order indicates where the train departs from, and identifies where the train is going. So most operators don't really care whether they're traveling East or West. I do stick to the convention of even numbered trains heading East, and odd numbered trains for Westbound. We're developing a time-based schedule, and the printed schedule shows an operator of a scheduled train whether they're heading East or West. But on the Willow Creek, knowing the originating location and final destination of a train are the key bits of information for the operator. A colored block or other indication could easily be added to the Train Order if direction of travel was important for the operator to know; good idea.

Hi what phone system do you use?? Cheers
@Vigment136 жыл бұрын
I use a private automated branch exchange (PABX) box purchased on Ebay. For example: Excelltel SOHO-PBX SP-208 2 x 8 PABX Telephone Switch System Control Exchange. Price typically $80-$85 USD (as of today) with free shipping. Allows for 8 phones to be connected. Available with 110 and 220 volt power. Usually ships from China but I just found the same box shipping from the US. I use very cheap phones from Walmart costing less than $6 each. Works just like an 8-phone system in a small business/office. A super reliable system and fun to use in op sessions. Enjoy!

Im assuming there are no external phone lines coming into the unit? Cheers

The PABX unit is able to support external phone lines, but for model RR operations I do not connect an external line. On the Willow Creek, it operates as a telephone system just within the train room.
