This is really interesting, thanks! I must admit I was a bit confused myself about the signalling system in your earlier videos - though it didn't matter too much since I wasn't holding a train controller :) But this setup definitely simplifies things a lot which must make it easier for operators - especially new ones, which I appreciate as a novice myself!

Novice or expert -- the old signals confused everyone! The Arduino saved the day. Yeah! Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated!

Normally I'd rather be shunting in the yard or running locals, but being a dispatcher here looks fun!

I don't disagree with you, but the Dispatcher position is a fun job and nice for a change. Good to change things up occasionally!

It’s a great solution for the problem. Is there a solution to prevent two trains entering the mainline from opposite directions at the same time?
@Vigment133 жыл бұрын
Very rare that we'd see two trains hitting entry/exit points at exactly the same time, but during op sessions, that's where the dispatcher would come in to play. The DS would recognize two opposing trains ready to enter a block, and would hold one of them until the other cleared the block. Good question. Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for the question and the feedback! High greens!

Another adventure in fun. Is your train detection via optical detectors that require a lighted scene?
@Vigment133 жыл бұрын
Greetings, Mr. Webster. Definitely fun! :-) Yes, optical sensors, since that's all the Circuitron BD-1 uses. So, unfortunately, full lighting required. None of your slick evening lighting changes allowed. Good to hear from you, as always!

@@Vigment13 we have a grad crossing that activates when the lights are low. Thinking of another circuit. Hmmm?

This goes well beyond just "playing with trains" doesn't it?

Absolutely! Love that there's so many facets to this hobby.
