Here's some footage captured from our Carbine 1.5 class in Denver, CO November 2011. I really appreciate the efforts of Andrea at Chiaroveggente Productions to put this together for us.
The Carbine 1.5 class is not for beginners. The class pushes your already existing skills to a new level. We drive our students to be extremely aggressive and think way outside of the box. It'll definitely get your blood pumping!
If you enjoy lazy days on the range laying on the line or shooting from the bench at a relaxing pace...then this class is not for you. We will push you past your comfort zone.

@TUFENUF We teach to put the outside knee up only when you have support for the front of the weapon. It also helps in confined space when you have another shooter standing over you. It does not increase exposure if you do it correctly. It is just another option, "A" way not "THEE" way. KL

Thanks for the video. And to anyone interested in tactical carbines, i highly recommend Mr.Lambs Green Eyes, Black Rifles". Although it's not the end-all, be-all, the techniques and training it provides are great assets to any mans tactical tool chest

wondering if you can clarify for me why on the the barricade catch up drill you are telling guys to have there outside knee up? is this just for stability ? rest for elbow ? I was always lead to believe to keep it in and out of way. Where they misleading me or misinformed? not criticizing just wanna know

Anybody know why you would want your outside knee up when shooting from a barricade? I've heard of other instructors preaching the opposite, to protect the femoral artery from exposure and possible gunfire. Anybody care to weigh in?

Patrick Skoll I know this is an older comment but since you asked.... The idea is that you use it to stabilize your firing elbow and it enables you to step out from cover and get a wider field of view if necessary. I do think that you've got a legit point about protecting your leg, but I'll bet you can still keep it pretty low profile.

+Benjamin Spangler the thing about using the outer knee up when leaning over is that your pelvis is being squeezed against your ribs and when leaning out you have less balance. If you got a teammate stacking up behind you all it takes is a slight shove and over you go. Also, your lean is more restricted. Just try it over and over with gear on. Going knee down on the outboard/shooting side of the barricade/concealmeant you're leaning allows you to keep low profile with more balance and allows you to snap back behind cover more quickly.

@midwestiowashooter Yes it may, but are you more worried about not getting shot, or making the other guy worry about that? Now your in his OODA loop and a stable platform using the outside knee helped you get that. Offense over defense right? Sword>Shield

This is a vid of using a misunderstood training tool the incorrect way. If you want to see how to properly do this and use this training tool take a look at tactical rifleman how to shoot from cover or barricade. They will show you how to properly do all this.

Stop muzzle fucking those holes! This is a misunderstood training tool. It is meant to get you to think about site over bore in various different instances and how to manipulate your weapon appropriately so you don’t get a face full of concrete. It is not intended as training to shoot the mail man through the mail slot in your door, or maybe your the mail man shooting into the slot. Either way the only thing your muzzle should fuck is an enemy that gets close enough to do so.

I would never shoot with my ass sticking out to shoot through those low holes like that. I know Lamb was Delta but its just at wrong. Lay down and can't your rifle if you have to. Also, that outside de leg up while kneeling exposes your femoral artery. That's wrong too unless you need to engage a target that has moved closer along the wall of the corner you're shooting around. All else good.

Retired SGM (E-9) CAG (Delta) Operator who has trained with and trained with the best shooter in the world to include CAG/Delta, Special Forces, Rangers, British SAS etc...Had real world combat and black ops missions, has a multi million dollar company that's training calendar is full year after year vs a clueless keyboard warrior. Gee I wonder who actually know more and has real insight into combat shooting. Go back and play your COD and shut the fuck up douche nozzle.

Listen douche nozzle. You're clearly talking out of your third point of contact. It's nice you have "10 years" doing whatever. I'm retired SOF. Been there done that got the tee shirts. With your obvious lack of training knowledge you run your mouth way too much. This "tacticool" training you're referring to is proven tier 1 training and it's conducted by legendary Delta/CAG Operator Kyle Lamb. Now unless you have a 18, 38 or 37 MOS or a G SQI shut up. I retired a 38B last attached with 5th SFG. Now MAN up and do tell what your MOS master of all?

I'm not sure how I feel about putting your muzzle through the hole small holes, I understand the reasoning behind not wanting to track into concrete, but I feel this can be averted with some situational awareness. One of the saving graces of firing in an urban environment, or any environment for that matter, is the enemy not knowing exactly where the shots are coming from. Once you've exposed definitively where you're engaging from, your enemy can put much more accurate suppressive fire on your position. It might be a preferential thing, it would suck to get concrete blowing back at you, but I'd risk it if it meant my opposition didn't have a clear picture of my position.
