I love what the vikings have been doing and I’m going to be proud if this team no matter what. But for the playoffs they desperately need to unlock the short passing game. We’ve been great at deep shots and intermediate passing all year but what I’ve seen a lot of this year that when we get up on a team we revert to the run, which is good but teams know we’re gonna run it because we don’t really wanna put the ball up in harms way down the field as we’re trying to eat clock, and we don’t have a great quick passing game to try and pick up 5-6 yards to set up the run better. I finally saw a little bit of it with the calls at the end to seal the game last night against the packers with the cj ham first down and the akers first down. It’s plays like that, and then also plays with quick outs, drags, and quick slants that we need to incorporate more to help seal the game when we have a lead.
@dylanmiller84562 күн бұрын
Completely agree. I said this very same thing recently. I'm concerned about a lack of short passing in our offense. If we end up facing a team like the Eagles in the playoffs who have an excellent D-line that can pressure the QB, we're gonna need to rely on short hot routes. Our offense is predicated on long-developing routes which means Sam needs time. If the O-line can't give him time against elite D-lines, we're gonna have a major problem.

Enter 4 th quarter if up 3 scores the losing team will likely only have 2 or possibly 3 processions.
