First of all let me talk about how elegant she looks with almost every food she eats. Damnn this gurl knows how to enjoy every food and how to eat perfectly without making a big mess out of it. This looks so good everytime I see you or others eating it. I wish I had a place near me that served it. However, I'm wondering is it a very spicey dish? I'm not that good with spice, but are you able to adjust the amount of heat when making it yourself? Definitely going to try it!!! Also, I hope your fingers are ok.... that looked sooooo hot! 🔥 ❤

it's not that hot😅. It's a manageable hot. To answer your question about adjusting ingredients, with many African dishes substitution of some ingredients takes away the essence of the dish and alters the whole flavour and experience of the dish. There are some grey areas with certain ingredients like the meat choice. I would suggest watching tutorials on how to prepare Egusi soup and Fufu, they will state the ingredients that you can substitute.

@@aphindilelukhozi definitely agree with this comment. my mom makes egusi often and the protein differs from cow to goat to fish. i think spice is what really bring the dish together. if you don’t make it a bit spicy it’ll take away from the dish and become too bland

lmao so funny you can find pumpkin seeds at the latino markets or african markets in the US. and for the greens you can use spinach. for meats you can buy cow skin, beef chunks and some fish of your choice. it's so good with regular oil but the flavor is much better when you make the stew with palm oil and dried shrimps. so yum!

I love egusi and fufu! There is this Nigerian restaurant here in Vegas and I just love their food! I'd like to try other places but they make all of their soups with seafood stock and I am allergic to seafood.
