They play at the same time, simple. There *is* one competition that needs to go, and that's the League Cup. Total waste of money. Either get rid, or do something interesting with it, like exclude Premier League sides and open it up to Scotland and Wales. Other countries do with only one domestic cup competition. It's just common sense.
