Bordering Namibia and Angola lies a little village called Ohauwanga village, a place I'm proud to call home. I recently went home and as we observe the Namibia Heritage Week, I thought to share what an ordinary Saturday in an Owambo village home looks like.
We went from fetching water on our heads, to collecting firewood in an endless forest, to pounding Omahangu. I am really at my happiest when I am home.

I just realized how much I’ve gotten used to European/Western living. This is a great depiction of our culture and heritage and we should ensure that we pass it on to our children. It is important to instill traditions at a young age because just as you have shown, you never forget how to balance a water container, pound and sieve mahangu. Well done 🎉

I was recently in Namibia for my friend's wedding which was in the North (0nayena Village i think) I forgot the groom's village.I had such great experience but the HEAT!!! Iyho.Then we camped at Sossusvlei and Spitzkoppe.Oh we also did spend a day in Etosha park.Enjoyed every bit of my stay and we plan to return as there's still so much to discover in your beautiful country.PS:please tell Mr President to bring the airport closer to Windhoek.shuuu!!

My sister you are bringing back my memories, my grandmother, from my mum side, was from mumuila tribe in Namibia ,I'm from south of Angola 🇦🇴 and I used to get water from the kassimba, as we used to call it, but I don't speak the dialects, I can only speak Portuguese, do you speak Portuguese sister? Sister I'm so proud of you, your video, brought tears of joy, I live in the UK for more than 20 years, I really wanna go back.
