Swarming bees that make hives in tree branches. As a 6 year-old, I used to harvest them with a burning coconut husk and a machete out in Ban Nikhom Khao Bo Kaeo in the early 70's.

Its funny Ryan, I speak Thai fairly well (20 years in Thailand) and I speak a little Khmer (8 years) and many of the Thai & Khmer words are the same.. Sunglasses same (vanta), Drinking glass (gow) etc etc.. Khmer will be easy for you if you didnt speak Thai, because its a total mix bag of things and your mind goes directly to Thai once you hear a 'Thai word" in Khmer... Love the opening montage BTW.

I would find that intresting and so might others who are considering having a homestead 😊 just a suggestion, sorry if you have done so already and i have missed it. Take care

Another great episode guys, The insect infestation at night is annoying, hopefully they will move on soon. Living among extended families is a great thing..Be careful your sons do not fall in love with a first cousin though! 555 Yes, Damo getting in the pig pen to see the babies is something...getting close to mama pig I would not try personally. All turned out fine , Circle of Life is a great lesson for children. Thanks again guys, Peace and Love Y'all PS: Ahh, old Thai traditions. I see too many farang men on YT boasting/displaying a master-slave relationship they seem to have with their Thai spouses and are proud of it...yet inhumane to me. To each their own, we all have different ways of sharing work and responsibilities

my partners village are mostly her family relatives. the village was formed from her ancestors and a few other families, most of the land is nor sor 3 or sor por kor, land rights given to the landless, i don't know if the government actually followed through with their promise of last year to convert 22million rai from SPK 401 titles into NS3 so they can have a land title. interesting how thailand will seize land from hotels and resorts illegally using SPK 401 land and give it to more landless farmers. great video again ryan!

'shrooms are sooo dangerous to pick oneself. Can lead to organ shutdown and a lingering and painful passing... Never ever ever pick your own mushrooms unless you know for sure... Chris macandless back in the day and the infamous Australian incident just recently are two good examples.

People still intomidate and even kill over land today in Thailand. Especially in rural areas. Changing paperwork and land boundaries, bribes, burning down of warehouses with paperwork. Happens a bit on small islands with no police presence.

@Brandon-nh7hw10 ай бұрын
Ryan, have you ever thought about creating an online course teaching people about the benefits of mushrooms and how to grow them? A friend of mine has a course teaching people to can vegetables, another has a course on woodworking and another on quilting, all make a very good living. I partnered with a guy on a course about crypto trading, the profits from that course allowed me to not work for 2 1/2 years. Anyway, it's something you seem to have a passion for and the profit potential is good, so might be worth thinking about if putting it together and learning to sell it is something you're interested in.
