Carpenter has done some very good work. I don't know how i missed this film. Perfect kid casting. But the adults don't seem to have their hearts in it. The kids, particularly the girl, have a good script. Carpenter is a master at car crashes and violence in general. They Live, The Thing, and Escape from NY are amazing for direction, casting, music.
