It's always bothered me that in the 1995 version, the number 7 on the clock looks like an up-side-down number 2. It's odd as all the rest of the numbers aren't quite that stylised. At 5:01.

Well I think they superimposed digital images of irises on the children and motion tracked it. The slowly raises the opacity followed amplifying a stylized glow effect. In short they used CGI.

Unpopular Opinion: The John Carpenter film was better.
@LIAMMAGEE-t4i4 ай бұрын
Sadly, you're well off the mark: the original was far superior. The remake was bland and generic looking; a typical t.v. production of its time. The sixties version is in wonderfully spooky black and white, the actors are first rate and give due consideration to an intriguing and well paced example of conceptual science fiction. Unfortunately, Mr. Carpenter's version is a piss water weak remake. No offence to him he's done great work in the past: Dark Star; Assault on Precinct 13; The Fog;and a fairly decent, if overly gorey, The Thing among some others( let's not mention Ghosts of Mars! ).

I only watched the original for the first time the other week, and one thing I noticed was in in the newer version alot of the male roles were replaced by female ones, even the leader of the kids which would of made more sense to keep that one male atleast. This is always the case, women have dominated the media for decades now, and they always push them into traditionally male roles and alot of the time it's over compensation and ruins the film/programme. And at the same time the female characters will moan about being oppressed by men. It's cringey.
