Goku couldn't do anything to broly until he absorbed everyone's ki everytime he attacked broly he took it without taking any damage, even as a repressed ssj broly took ssj grade 2 Vegetas full power big bang attack and kick without taking damage or flinching. Broly was superior in everyway especially in Lssj I own the original copy of broly the legendary super Saiyan and have seen the movie dozens of times and know every part of the movie by heart, broly only lost because Goku held everyone's ki and used it in one hit in order to damage him and that's what he did he used everyone's ki in one hit to tear through broly then brolys power was released all at once it's like shooting a grande everything will come out at once causing it to explode that's what happened to broly.

With Vegeta, Goku was defeated mid battle and the others had to wear away at, and ultimately defeat Vegeta.

Easiest way to confirm Cell >>> Goku. Goku full power vs Cell, Gohan thinks they are warming up. This is because he is considerably stronger than Goku already. But doesn’t believe this to be the case. Cell vs SSJ gohan, cell powers up and still can’t land any damaging and decisive blows, but is also toying with him to a degree. Cell vs SSJ2 gohan, cell goes full power and scares everyone including Goku with his power, but gohan is unphased and easily overpowers him.

Yes, but Piccolo wouldn't have been able to hit Raditz without Goku's assistance! All I'm saying it was a team effort, as both characters had to work together to take Raditz down (even Gohan partially contributed by weakening Raditz enough that Goku was even able to hold Raditz for as long as he did despite his own injuries, which is partially why Piccolo decided to train the boy, as he recognized Gohan's latent potential could help them in the coming battles, which ultimately proved true when you consider Gohan's contributions to the Z Fighters defeating Vegeta & forcing him to retreat)! Sure I agree Goku couldn't defeat Raditz by himself, but neither could Piccolo as he himself realized & was proven by Raditz's ability to dodge Piccolo's first Special Beam Cannon that missed due to Raditz's speed being too great! Piccolo also killed Goku but only due to Goku's willingness to give his own life to take down Raditz (admittedly he knew the Dragon Balls could be used to revive him but still he did it to protect the Earth & his son, after his attempts to show his brother mercy failed due to Raditz's lack of sincerity & viewing such mercy as a sign of weakness) even to the point of allowing his rival & nemesis Piccolo to do what he invented the Special Beam Cannon for in the first place (which only happened cause Goku showed mercy to Piccolo whom he recognized wasn't as evil as his previous incarnation, which is proven by both Goku & Raditz's souls passing on to Other World when they died as souls normally killed by Demon Clansmen remain in hellish limbo unless resurrected through the power of the Dragon Balls, with Piccolo losing said status due to lacking the pure evil nature of King Piccolo & his elder siblings as Piccolo is also King Piccolo's offspring in addition to being his reincarnation)! Sure, Piccolo's attack killed them, but only as the result of the actions of Gohan & Goku, as in a straight up fight Piccolo wouldn't have had enough time to charge the technique let alone successfully land it as your attack can have all the power you need, but it is utterly useless if you can't hit anyone with it cause they can dodge it (admittedly Raditz himself noted his first shot managed to graze him but he did manage to barely avoid a lethal blow & continue fighting)! Saying Piccolo defeated Raditz outright ignores why he teamed up with Goku in the first place as he recognized that it wasn't a fight he felt he could win on his own, thus chose to swallow his pride & ask his greatest rival for help as neither wanted the Earth to be destroyed!

Gohan was not impressed because both him and his father were way above vegeta, trunks or piccolo (no comparison possible) I do think Goku was stronger than Gohan in Ssj but he knew the only thing Gohan needed to surpass him for good is to get angry. Don't forget that Gohan, since he was a little kid sees his father as a hero, as the strongest in the universe. He admire his father and for him the simple idea of him being the number one is impossible. If Goku is a 10 with ssj, gohan is probably a 9.9 or 9.8 so not really different. But Goku knows he can't get stronger at that time he reached his full potential it's not the case for Gohan and he proved it

Yeah, you're right actually. I think it's because, throughout the series, Vegeta always mentions how Goku surpassed him as motivation to get stronger. So while technically, he never beat Vegeta, it's assumed that he could. But I never really thought about it until I read your comment, but Goku never beat Vegeta. He didn't even beat Majin Vegeta.

For Cell there's several statements and source material that says Goku and Cell were on par during their fight and technically Goku should've killed Cell with the instant Kamehameha since it destroyed the upper part of his torso and therefore his head which Cell stated he needed a single cell from his brain to survive so that he could completely regenerate from but you know he survived because...plothole. Also I know Beerus isn't exactly a villain but he was certainly presented as the antagonist during his first appearance in Battle of God's which Goku gave up, Goku also lost to Hit twice technically (again I know not a villain but worth mentioning) once during the tournament between universe 6 and 7 and then when he was briefly killed by him. He also lost to Goku Black/Zamasu multiple times, Moro multiple times, Granola (technicaly a villain at first because he was deadset on revenge/brainwashed by heaters) Gas, and wow I'm just now starting to see how many L's he took in Super. He had also got beat up by Golden Freiza but done in by Sorbet's laser in Revival of F, lost to Broly and had to resort to fusion and lost to Jiren as well before finally technically beating him when he got enraged while in Mui but then his body gave out on him right after..

They were on par because was holding back a lot. And still Cell had the advantage. He was just toying with Goku. Cell surviving the Kamehameha isn't a plothole. His head was destroyed on King Kai's planet as well but he still regenerated. His nucleus wasn't destroyed by the Kamehameha.

When it came to cell, it was all but confirmed that Goku couldn’t beat him. He even had his power and abilities scaled by Korin, and after showcasing just half of his strength (which shook the tower and lookout) Korin flat out says “No you can’t beat him”
