The plot is that Oogie Boogie open a portal to a beautiful, but nightmare grove of the villains that were lured into that the wisps are guiding us through the grove to escape by leading us to the light of the morning sun.

Why does the villains layer look like a fairy garden? I would of put jack a lanter's and evil treas. With the fantacia mountain demon and spirits flying around. Something scary with animatronics of the villans in each corners.

That’s kinda the point. It’s a nightmarish realm, and you’re supposed to feel their presence in the grove even if you don’t see them.

It’s environmental storytelling. Kinda like a Disney villain nature hike. 😂 Not everyone’s cup of tea I suppose but I think it’s one of the coolest things they’ve ever done for the party. 💖
