Getting an old surplus Villiers stationary engine ready for sale. This one has excellent compression and runs very strongly. An Australian made motor that is becoming a vintage classic.

Sold the Villiers and it's now on a concrete mixer, doing what it does best. These are the best motor you can get for the job. Will slug away for countless hours and ask for more. Oz icon. Cheers Rob.

A Nice old engine to put on a homemade scooter

Looks just like a Briggs or Tecumseh. Sounds like, also. Is it reduction-geared?
@Xynudu8 жыл бұрын
+Jacques Blaque No reduction gearing. All those flat head motors pretty much used the same design pattern. Basic low tech solid motors. Although some of the later B&S stuff wasn't so good. Cheers Rob

Hi there great vid. Just starting work on my Dad's old Villier engine to get it running thinking 40's 50's era. I'm 1974 so well before my time it looks to be 4 stroke aswell has oil sump cap same spot. I'm missing fuel tank cap but it's not a screw on type it's like a radiator cap. Wondering if could give info on anyone or a place to buy a fuel cap. Cheers thanks

Hi Patrick, Maybe try Ebay or put a wanted add on Gumtree. Apart from that you are looking at scrap/junk yard motors. Also try this guy: vaces.com.au/photos/villiers-parts/ Cheers Rob

Hello sir, my mk12 is having a intermediate thud and black smoke. Any fix??
@michelebeck43116 жыл бұрын
Sainulabid Pothangodan check the timing. The fly wheel doesnt have key, just a tapered shaft. Take head off top dead center with valves closed, line fly wheel marks up

Hi anyone knows if where is the carburetor jar is a filter in there or it's just oil?
@Xynudu4 жыл бұрын
It should have a filter in there as well. If it's missing you could probably use some coarse steel wool. That was the method used in early oil bath air filters (as used by Volkswagen Beetle etc).

Does it have a level adjuster in the float chamber ?

what is cause of vijay villiers water pump run few minute after stop ? pls tell me sir
@Xynudu5 жыл бұрын
Could be many things. When stopped after run check spark. If spark OK then must be fuel issue.

Brilliant Thanx, just normal 91 octane unleaded?
@Xynudu7 жыл бұрын
Yes, but you will need to add a valve seat lube to protect them, as they are not hardened for unleaded fuel. These motors were made for leaded petrol. Cheers Rob
@mindofown7 жыл бұрын
Thanx Rob, does higher octane unleaded help? And also mine keeps stalling, starts up runs for a minute then stalls? any ideas? Mines same model as yours.
@Xynudu7 жыл бұрын
Higher octane won't help. These are low compression engines. Sounds like a fuel problem. Check fuel flow from tank, clean out carby float bowl, make sure float level is high enough, blow out needle and seat, blow out main jet and mixture jet, adjust mixture jet (richen it up) , make sure carby is mounted with no gasket air leaks, check air filter is not blocked.. The oil bath plastic air filter bowl can distort with age, so try running it with that off to test it's getting enough air. The basic stuff. Cheers Rob
