I came to Lithuania to work at the US Embassy. Fell in love with a Lithuanian, married and decided to live in Vilnius. Safe, clean, affordable compared to other EU countries. ❤️ the internet speed & cost. Nature is their thing along with live music and outdoor kitchen/balloon rides during the summer. A great place to raise a family.

As someone who was raised in Belgium I'm looking out to move out of the country to be more connected to nature and less consumerism lifestyle. We just booked a trip to Lethunia (Vilnius) coming September and looking forward to see what I miss out in life. I hope my girlfriend falls in love aswell, who knows what the future will hold. Great inspiring comment!

@@ßrinkmon to be fair as soon as Summer ends Lithuania is not the nicest place to be in. And Winters for some (even locals) might feel depressing. Foreigners usually form very different opinions about Lithuania depending on if they've visited in during the Summer or Winter (which lasts for nearly 5-6 months). So keep that in mind please :)

Aš myliu Lietuvą! My ancestry is Lithuanian and we visited in May 2018. I have always been obsessed with Lithuania since I was a kid and the trip was like going to my dreamland. The beaches, castles, beautiful old buildings, people, food, etc. was all just as I had imagined. I felt safer walking alone in Vilnius than I do in my own home town. Absolutely left a chunk of my heart there and hope to be back some day. 💕

@@POLMAZURKA so clean, the people are so nice and helpful (even when they know you’re a tourist), and the big one - there aren’t drug addicts and homeless people all over the place begging or spinning out. Hi, thanks for your video and coming to Vilnius. I live there yearly, I am a Missionary there and married to a beautiful Lithuanian woman and we have a little girl and she speaks 3 languages. I am still learning Lithuanian, it is a very hard language to learn, especially not just speak it, but write and read it as well, which I find is easier than speaking it. Its true about Lithuania being a small friendly country. Many people do speak English here, but it is good to know their language and they truly like it when you are learning their language. We have a small 65M2 home with about a acre of land just outside the city, little bit quieter and more relaxing after spending your time in the city, traffic is really bad there and it is hard to get home if you do not leave out of the city around 3 pm. I find the culture beautiful and friendly, they do love Americans here. The food is great and the summers are really short and the winters very long. If you like the beach, Palanga or Klaipeda on the Baltic Sea are beautiful Cities as well as the beaches. You have a lot of nearby countries too to visit, like Poland/Latvia/Astonia/Norway/Sweden/Ukraine, the list goes on, not to mention Lithuania is apart of the EU, so you can travel within all the EU Countries without Visa. Lithuania is a little over 20 years post Communism, which they hate Communism. You still see the old Communist Flats/Apartments, but they do have beautiful Flats that are modern. The Old Town is so beautiful, especially at night and around Christmas. They have great education, they have to learn two other languages besides Lithuanian of their choice. Universities are very great at education and learning is a must to them. The average income is around 700 Euros, but most earn below that, just like in other EU countries, but Lithuania especially, they truly like Capitalism. So, if anyone is interested in coming for a visit, send me a email @ keith.sims@live.com

I'm surprised by the food dishes you were showing. They looked good. My impression from my family history as well as from recipe cookbooks was that Lithuanian cuisine was very bland and boring. Passed one very mild night at Vilnius on the 1st of May from 30th of April 2018 with lightnings over Neris river! Crossed bouncily moving couples dancing next to the bridges, got fresh beer in cups and "Riesutai" ?? - Peanuts. Had a long rest joining in with them! Got around "losing myself in the streets of Vilnius" (title of my tourist map), but only in the very end on the way back to the Airport, not finding any of the indicated bus lines. Maybe the wrong time at around 6am, still off season.... Friendly Lithuanian mechanics brought me in their car up there for free :-) Enjoyed the dawning around Gediminas Tower and cathedral, then in Bernardine's Gardens, just didn't make it to random Uzupis Republic any more... A pretty suggestive multicultural historical urban core with lots of space and green meadows just ahead. Great view from the "Three Crosses"

Vilnius is a large city by area, of about 400 square meters.(Its simmilar to Warsaw, and bigger than Minsk, who have bigger populations) The actual population is about 750 - 800 thousand, I would not say that it is a small city. It has a lot of nightclubs, art festival events and everything else. Vilnius sometimes looks small, because the old town is at the bottom, and the new districts are far from the mountain, from the Raisson hotel you can barely see the tops of houses. In fact, the Old Town makes up only 3-4 percent of Vilnius. People who live daily work in industrial areas, as in other big cities, face high traffic congestion. People from smaller Lithuanian cities during peak hours try not to go to Vilnius due to big traffic jams.
@Anna1331993 жыл бұрын

@TravelingwithKristin4 жыл бұрын
Wow I never paid that much!
@tadugz4 жыл бұрын
Lucky you! :D I never saw a cocktail in Vilnius for just 4€... I asked some of my local friends to write price ranges for drinks (beer and cocktails) in Vilnius, just to make sure I am not dreaming and spreading disinformation :) so, everyone agreed that it is almost impossible to find cocktails in Vilnius for just 6€... and to my personal surprise one person said that right before quarantine she saw few places in Vilnius where the beer was already over 6€! I personally paid 5€ at Dirty Duck Pub for a pint of beer in winter. Of course prices are still lower in Vilnius than in the majority of Western European cities but it is not longer that cheep as it used to be 5-10 years ago. In fairness, in a good restaurant in Vilnius you pay exactly the same what you’d be paying in Berlin, Paris and so on. What is really cheep(er) here comparing with the booming economies, is Real Estate and rent... but food, drinks are not cheep at all, even clothes, footwear is quite expensive and Lithuanians usually travel (well, were travelling) abroad to do shopping :D it was better to shop in London than Vilnius especially during sales ;)

Why Lithuania is cheap in touristy places is simply because we don't get many tourists yearly. Lithuania is a super unspoiled tourist place.

Lithuania is still on the way to be touristic place. But it doesn't mean it is not worth. American tourists could show the example by visiting there 😁

Hi, my name is Elvis.. you have a very simple and nice video. Please can you give me specific information.: My question is, does Lithuania allow digital normad to take up paid job? I am a good cook and on the sides, I would like to put my experience and passion into good use. I know Portugal allows DNormads to do paid jobs. Does Lithuania allows paid job alongside being a DNormad? I will appreciate your reply. Kind regards Elvis
@TravelingwithKristin2 жыл бұрын
If you are planning to get paid jobs from Lithuanian employers you will need a different visa.
