Hi Toms, thanks for the great video. I thought of a challenge for you to make a POV video with the A6000 but in black and white with a 50mm focal length. That just occurred to me. Thank you and I wish you all the best. Mirec

We are talking about an F1.2 lens with almost no optical downside so it has to be a bit bigger than normal. I do not think there is any other lenses out there at F1.2 for aspc with similar performance seriously. Overall, superb lens and superb video.
@TomsJurjaks5 ай бұрын
It really is a great lens HYDE and certainly not for everyone but personally I have been very pleasantly surprised of its performance despite a bit bigger size 👌

Man that Viltrox 27mm F1.2 is too good! IT beats some native glass out there at a fraction at a cost.
@TomsJurjaks8 ай бұрын
For real man! I feel like we put such a high bar for third party lenses that we often forget that native lenses (if they are not some crazy GMasters) have flaws too.

I'd like to try this lens but for now the Sony 20mm 1.8G sits on my A6700 most of the time. It's compact, light and super sharp. Try one if you can on your A6700.
@stevenwaldstein22497 ай бұрын
Thank you for the video. My copy finally arrived and do have to decide if the size OK since I did buy my A6700 for light weight travel. May be better suited for around town but when paired with the 75/1.2 Pro they are great lenses. It really makes APS-C images of extremely high IQ. Going to compare it to my Zeiss Batis 40mm f/2 on my full frame body and see how it does. Take care.

Hey Steven, thanks for the comment. For sure the 27mm is one of the most high performing lenses for apsc, and Ive heard the same about the 75mm. Please let us know how the tests go, im very curious

I'm selling several videos about this lens and especially videos that use it with the Sony A6700, which is a camera that I use. I'm extremely passionate about its quality and the possibilities that the F1.2 gives us. Incredible. I have a question about the A6700, what SD card do you use to be able to use 24 fps on it? Thanks!
@TomsJurjaks4 ай бұрын
Great to hear! There probably is some calculator to find the slowest possible (hence cheapers) SD card, but I use nothing else than Angelbird V90 SD card. It has 300mbs speed and is perfect not only for 24fps but also when you need to record some slow motion or use it with other cameras with higher bitrate.

Toms, in the US, the Viltrox pro 27 and the Sigma 23 are the same price. Which of these 2 lens would you recommend at this price point?
@TomsJurjaks6 ай бұрын
Both excellent options, sharpness and focal length. I would consider the size and features. If size is the most important thing, go with Sigma, its so much more compact, but Viltrox has a lot more “on-lens” features such as aperture ring, AF/MF switch etc

oughffff thats a tough question Lars haha - i dont think I have found the perfect camera just yet. Really digging the A6700 but it has its flaws too. But if I have to name one, I guess it will be a6700 - I love what I am getting for the price I paid for it - I can do everything I need with it. Whats yours?

@TomsJurjaks8 ай бұрын
Thank you Eluna! A6700 is definitely a great camera. If you only gonna do photos, I don't think you will see a crazy improvement. ZV-E10 is still relatively recent camera, its just that ergonomically its a bit stripped down (less buttons, no viewfinder, lighter construction etc). But regards the image quality - its the lenses that will make the most difference :)

I think the sigma 30mm is a closer comparison than the 23mm lenses. I'm still waiting for a proper comparison of those two lenses; sigma 30mm vs viltrox 27mm. I know the viltrox will be superior optically but the sigma is half the price and half the weight.
@TomsJurjaks5 ай бұрын
Ima big fan of the Sigma 30mm. Even though I love the AF/MF switch as well as aperture ring, Sigmas size, sharpness and as you say price - is well worth it. I will buy it soon and hopefully can make a comparison video (I had it before sent by Sigma, but didn’t get to keep it)

Hi Tom thanks for the video. I have a problem with my A7SIII and the Viltrox 27mm 1.2 When I shoot in 4K, the vignetting is enormous and unusable. I have to use the zoom function in the sensor at x1.3 but when I do that I lose autofocus, eye tracking etc... What settings did you make to shoot in 4K and have eye tracking like in 07:01 Thanks for your help :)
@TomsJurjaks2 ай бұрын
Hey buddy! Your issue is that you are using an APSC lens on a Full Frame camera. If you wanna do that, you can, but you need to set your camera in APSC shooting mode. That way you use only part of your sensor (less resolution) but you won’t have those vignettes. Just to clarify, its not lens’ fault.

I prefer the a7c camera with the Sony 35mm 1.8 lens combination. It's lighter, has better dynamic range, and produces less noise compared to using an f1.8 lens instead of an f1.2 lens, which is only 1.2 stops. However, the a6700 gets noisy beyond 1600 ISO, and the a7c gets noisy beyond 6400 ISO, which is a difference of 2 stops.
@d3xmeister2 ай бұрын
If you have an APSC kit this lens is awesome. But if this is your main lens or focal length, understand than a A7CII with a Sony 55mm f/1.8 gives better quality (less noise at same ISO, more resolution) with about the same depth of field, and about the same optical quality, in a much smaller combo, but more expensive of course

@d3xmeister2 ай бұрын
@@tomlademann2521 Not necessarily, but in this case yes. There are other lens/camera combination where the cheaper kit gets arguably better results.
