As a retired architect myself all I can say is bravo! Very well done. Minimal use of different materials create pleasing spaces and a functional plan without being boring. The profession needs people like you young lady fighting for common sense changes to outmoded laws which restrict obvious solutions from being implemented.

@@builderspluscustomhomesand2146 As she had said, she would have liked to be able to be staying there full-time, and she would like to one day have a stable location. But just like people already can move entire non-tiny houses, so can tiny houses can be moved, it's just that it's easier with tiny houses. If regulation would allow it, a lot more people would have a tiny house and pay taxes for it. The question is, how small is too mall, really? I would say the minimum is 2 meters in length, 2 meters in height, 1.5 meters on that other dimension, so a total minimum of 6 cubic meters (212 cubic feet). Anything less than that becomes more of a cage, honestly. Where do you put the storage, where do you put the bed, where do you put the cooking area, where do you put the toilet and shower? At that volume, you can barely fit everything inside a bed frame in which you store things, and take them out to use them, or used them by attaching them to the walls. Anything less and it's pushing the limits of humane living.

The only issue I see is her not having a freezer. Ideally, she will get her land where to do some gardening (the easiest way would be using the "resilient simple garden" of RED Gardens and clingwrap greenhouses), and some of the produce would make it into the freezer, before or after dehydrating (again, making a solar dehydrator with clingwrap, using the "solar chimney dryer" model). I mean, sure, I could nitpick, she could get an even higher R value (thermal insulation), but that would cut into the usable space.
@georgianbents4 жыл бұрын
@@SapioiT Yeah, well that's YOUR problem, not hers. If she wanted one, or actually needed one, she could easily have one. There are numerous high efficiency, low profile fridge/freezers that will operate on solar systems. She never mentioned gardening - again, that seems to be YOUR issue, not hers. You've built this elaborate fantasy about why she needs a freezer. Rewatch the video as she mentions multiple times WHY she went the tiny house route, and absolutely NOTHING you're talking about was on her list.

6:20. I don’t know why people are unhappy that tiny house owners aren’t paying land tax or property tax...whoever owns the land they’re parked on will be paying those taxes and those costs are usually then built into the rent. I think many people make statements/complaints without really educating themselves...tiny houses are fantastic for the upcoming generations and governments need to start legislating to make it an easier process.
@Loneislander234 жыл бұрын
I do feel US should change the code for building self-living house. Basically the government should allow landowner to build wtf they want without engineer or architect. Just if it's not fit code you can't sale. So young people don't have to live in a tiny house. They can actually own a house in city without being bank slave for 30 years

I love the whole layout and just the overall feel of the interior space - so serene! I absolutely adore the use of the dropcloth! The blind looks very high end and I’m sure would cost a fortune if bought at a boutique - yet it’s made of twigs & drop cloth & old shoe laces! Amazing. The tree drawings on the pillows are super exquisite. The custom bathroom window is gorgeous and the wood carvings are just beautiful custom art. All of these artisan pieces make the space very high end and individualized. I love the little fridge in the office. You could put a little freezer there if you wanted but that fridge is beautiful! You could use it as a beverage fridge - or put water infused with mint or cucumber or fruit - ready for a long work day. The office loft is just lovely! It could be a great craft area or meditation or reading area. I could knit up there all day long! The 2-unit set up with large deck makes it much more ideal for long term living than just a single unit. Great job! 🙏🏻💜👼🏻✝️
