Saw these guys open for Megadeth in Charlotte NC touring for this record. Pepper asked if there were any guitar players in the crowd and as I was raising my hand he choose me to come on stage and handed me his les paul. Told me to play F and G bar chord (simpleton shit) and I played a Sabbath song with them in front of the crowd. Was epic shit.

Corrosion started out as a hardcore punk band from North Carolina around 1981 / 82. Seen and worked with them many times in the early 80's. Their sound was extremely different around inception. Very fast and hardcore punk rock. I do enjoy their more modern sound though, kind of a bluesy black sabbath.

If the concept of Phil going from Pantera to Down blows your mind..... you guys should check out Superjoint Ritual (sludge/thrash metal) or Scour (black metal). These are both projects that Phil has fronted since Pantera.

Down’s most well known line up is Phil on vocals (Pantera/Superjoint Ritual), Rex Brown on bass (Pantera), Jimmy Bower on drums (Eyehategod), Kirk Windstein on guitar (Crowbar) and Pepper Keenan on guitar (Corrosion of Conformity) but they have a different bass player before and after Rex. All of the above bands mentioned are worth checking out. I’d love to see a reaction to Lasting Dose or Planets Collide by Crowbar.
