Could you possibly talk about regenerative cooling in future videos? That would be interesting to see, you have amazing content.

Very well made, and excellent information for the most part. I do have a few critiques though, if you are willing to hear me out. So first, I noticed at 3:55 you say the pressure fed cycles are inefficient because there is a gas pushing another gas and so they inevitably mix, but this is technically not the case. The propellants are stored in a liquid form, not a gas form, and so long as there is a proper diffusor installed on the pressurant inlet to the propellant tanks you should not have to worry about high pressure gas jet shooting into the stored liquid (especially bad for cyogens which the comparatively hot pressurant gas jet would start to rapidly boil off if this were to happen). Second, I feel you may have mischaracterized the relative inefficiencies of the different cycles, or more specifically of the difference in efficiency between pressure fed vs pump (be it gas generator, staged combustion, or other) fed cycles. Correct me if I am wrong, but from my understanding it is not so much a matter of which is more or less efficient and more a matter of practical scale. Sure, if turbo pumps and gas generators (or precombustor i guess if its staged combustion) could scale down linearly with chamber size then absolutely they'd always be the best way to go. However in reality there is a limit that these devices can be miniaturized. Of course, there are some really great examples of out of the box thinking that have enabled even smaller scale pumps to work, the best example being Rocket Lab's use of motor driven rather than turbine driven pumps allowing them to scale the pump down more without worrying about pesky thinks like residence time and propellant mixing inside of a gas generator (being the primary issue I know of regarding scaling of gas generators). However even the Electron rocket is no small piece of machinery. If you were building, as you said, a small lunar lander, using a pump may actually be less mass efficient than using pressure fed systems. Third I noticed that you didn't mention expander cycles. I mean it's up to you what you wish to limit the scope to, and its true there are not a lot of expander cycles, and the have a built in size limit, but among their ranks is the legendary RL10, arguably one of the most successful rocket engine designs ever made. As well, the CECE variant of the RL10 demonstrated some of the deepest throttling capability of any liquid rocket engine of its size (as far as I am aware) and achieved a range from 5.9% to 104%, which I feel earns it at least a mention, but Ill admit that is just my opinion, not a fact check or anything. Otherwise I thuoght it was a spectacular video. You are clear, concise, and your videos are always a good balance of information density and a followable pace. Keep up the awesome work! Oh ya, and the rest of UTAT says hi as well :)

Thank you for the lesson Vinayak. A cars internal combustion engine can see pressure of around 2500 psi at TDC after ignition. What kind of pressures do you see in a rockets combustion chamber?

Do you know about a way to calculate nozzle geomentry using method of characteristics for asmmetrical nozzle contour? eg. in 2D crossection the left side is longer or slightly curved inwards

Sure looks to me that both the stage combustion and gas generator use regenerative "heating" of the fuel which also cools the surface. However, it's really for recuperating energy and putting it back into the combustion area. We do this all the time in industrial furnaces.

And as for Pressure feed system: The use of a bladder removes any mixing issues. ... Yes, please think about it.
