If you have never had to sing publicly at the death of a loved one, you will never understand the strength these two showed here. Music is for healing the heart and mind. This performance was beyond perfect. It did exactly what it was meant to do. This is not a show. This is a tribute.

Whomever thumbs down this tribute is an idiot. Patty Loveless did carry Vince Gill, but I totally understand. Vince was devastated by this loss. If you watch the crowd there were quite a few wiping their eyes. If you don't get this, you don't understand country. Props to both Patty and Vince for this.

Vince Gill came into my life way after George Jones. George Jones was never forgotten in my life as his music was always heard in whatever prison cell I lived in. I heard Vince Gill way later in my life but my interest was waiting to hear him in any walk of life as he wasn't phoney, ( he was as real as George Jones and down to earth.) I knew about George Jones be by the public domain or my understanding about his life what he was all about. Tammy Wynette was part of such life God bless them both. The Life of George Jones and many country singers have left me with the greatest respect for them all. George Jones will never leave my senses, and for Vince Gill and Patty Loveless to pour their hearts out only magnify's my love for them all. May the Country western singers, Mr. George Jones, Mr. John Cash, Mr. Merle Haggard Mr. Waylon Jennings, Mr. Marty Robbins, and on and on, may they be united in the SPIRT OF GOD'S GLORY FOREVER AND EVER, AMEN.

I had this song played at my husband FUNERAL last NOVEMBER 2020 and I don't think I have ever cried so hard in 67 years bc he worked hard on God's land and worked making handi-houses for 44 years and got sick and wasn't EXSPECT to live. He was in 4 DIFFERENT hospital's for 3 months. Went through hell,I never left him. He lived after all that he lived another 8 more years. He lived through all that bc I did everything for him, except give his medicine. Now that's love. He was a vice president over Handi-House,retired,but never gave up. He started working when he turned 14 and worked until age of 70,due to neglect from this place here called, Medicl Center Hospital where he died with the worse SHINGLES I ever witness in .y whole like. We played that song bc it was he made for him. But he is with God,but everytime I hear that Beautiful song, hes lookin for the father and his son, Jesus Christ. That song would make the devil cry. My favorite song of all. Go Rest High On That Mountain bc honey your work is done. Missing him so miss till now I am sick leaving this cruel world, and they say when you see that light at the end of that tunnel, you found The Son JESUS Christ,so I know we will met again Beautiful song and every word so true. He watches over me,I know. Just to let you know there's a Good God

I agree W/Bruce Charles; however whomever negatively commented simply does not know how Country friends/singers live and truly feel about the people who have made a difference in ones' life. Vince Gill and Patty Loveless are two of my all-time Gospel singers. They sing W/their hearts and pour their souls into each rendition. Patty was a source of comfort to her friend, Vince, when his heart was breaking. "Go Rest High on that Mountain" says it all about George Jones and anyone who we have lost through our lives. GOD HAS TRULY BLESSED US! Love NetHugs Newsletters! Thank you all.

Vince and Patty are the epitomy of a class act duo, and they always have been. But seeing Garth and Trisha stand up in support of a broken Vince is priceless. It simple reiterates the wholesome and traditional values of Country music and it's fanbase.

I still remember where I was when I heard the opossum finally accepted that rocking chair at that mansion in the sky... I cried like I lost a family member... growing up as a child I remember Pawpaw and Mawmaw having George playing on the kitchen radio... we didn’t have tv back in 98 so the radio was out tv! I was 6 years old when I really started understanding what the voice on that box was saying lol I remember getting our first tv and that’s when I actually got to see who the voice belonged to and that’s when I realized George was the true king of country music!!!!

It tears me to pieces every time I watch this and when Vince Gill breaks down. I don't know how Patty Loveless kept it together. Seeing Vince cry would have made me lose it as well. Vince & George DID have a unique and wonderful friendship for many years. It's no wonder it hit Vince so hard. Amazing song......amazing singers. Patty Loveless is one of the best female vocalist in country music and can beat anybody, hands down, singing harmony. No one can do it better than Patty. The first time I heard Vince & Patty sing 'When I Called Your Name', I was driving and had to pull off the road, it blew me away so hard I had to stop the car to compose myself.
