One of the best things about going to a Vince Gill concert, besides his singing and guitar playing, is his storytelling. He's so good at it and weaves them in just the right places with the songs. An all around great entertainer. 👍

If you look closer, you can see Larry Gatlin cracking up and trying to keep from busting out in laughter. Every time I hear this song, I cannot stop giggling. Hearing Vince Gill explain his way out of a hole in the ground? Priceless.

I came here after watching comic Lewis Black talk about watching Vince Gill live one night. Vince was describing the song he wrote for his dad at long last, after his dad had died. Lewis Black said it cracked him right up. That song was, "It's Hard To Kiss the Lips At Night, That Chewed Your Ass Out All Day Long". hahaha... Now I know Vince has been married to Amy for a long time, making the rest of the story even funnier! ~Vince Gill, you are one of the world's greatest guitarists. I've loved your sense of humor. Danced to, and yelled 'YeeHaw' during songs like What The Cowgirls Do. (having Calvert De Forest, aka Bud Melman, in that video was genius!) And felt my heart twinge at the deep love you've shared through your music. You've hit just the right notes throughout your career. Long let your music ring out, brother.

I wanted to get a sense of who Vince Gill is, as I am going to see the Eagles again in Glasgow in a month or two. Now I know, he is a very funny guy. I knew he was a talented singer and writer and a great guitarist, but now I have the full picture. No wonder the other Eagles like him.

Vince shows a great deal of love and respect for his father in a song "The key to Life" in one of his album 'The Key'. It is a true story about him and his father. Every song on that CD is amazing. I love it. Fan for life

Yep, fathers and sons it can be a tricky path to navigate - when a son does well it can often make a father jealous, they feel threatened. Sad really but not a lot you can do except keep loving them an d hope they reach balance.

Michael Gorman Vince's father was a Federal Judge whose style of raising a children was very strict one but showed his love for Vince in many different ways and Vince realized it deeply after his father's passing (1997). Vince wrote a song about his life lessons received from his father in his "The Key" album. The name of the song is "The Key To Life". He has difficulty singing the song without becoming emotional. There is a video clip of him singing at CMA (1998) and he was unable to sing part of the song without just saying the lyrics.
