I have been reading through wild at heart lately and got to the chapter where it talks about God beaking down our false self-image. I've been experiencing a lot of that over the past few days. It is a crushing experience, but I know that this is the only way for me to truly let go of myself and let Jesus define who I am

God has brought me through a bad crack cocaine habit a dangerous lifestyle and throat cancer but this one thing that lingers is sexual immorality I hate it and been wanting and begging him to take this completely away but it stays around please pray for me brothers and sisters in christ and also Vince please ? Any suggestions for this anyone maybe who struggled with and is set free God used me mightily in street ministry before but this one sin is what pounds me down I'm worried about this please any and all prayers suggestions? Thanks I wanna get fired back up and b used by God again and bring souls to him for his glory

Sexual immorality plagued me for over 5 decades. In the video series Authentic Manhood I learned that while my surface idol was sexual immorality my deep idol was pride and a need for significance and recognition. I might suggest searching for the root causes and triggers that fuel your immorality. Porn and sexual immorality are literally only the tip of the iceberg. Vince also has some great recent Devos on fighting habitual recurring sins and vices.

Every morning, I pray increase of the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, protect me, increase in me, strengthen me, restore me. Rule over my flesh Holy Spirit. Give God dominion over all your body. Ask God to reveal what pain you are medicating. Shame? Rejection? Bitterness? Unforgiveness? Ask that these be revealed to you and release them, ask forgiveness. Forgive yourself. I come along with you in this journey. This test is will be your testimony. Give God praise in every little victory. Your greatest victory, will be the one in your mind. As I am praying now for you, I am seeing things from your past, that you were part of. Repent of these, and fill yourself with the HS!
