I really envy you. I bought one of these brand new. And covered many enjoyable miles, in those days main roads mostly had no speed limits, and it would cruise easily at 110 mph. I notice one minor change being the position of the ignition coil. I totally agree with all you say. I paid £358 for mine that was the standing price, same price as a new Morris Mini. John Surtees talked me into buying it on the Vincent stand at Earls Court Motor Cycle Show. Wish I had it now. It was special as George Brown was a friend who ran the works Gunga Din and he helped in setting mine up for improved performance, at very little cost. It would outrun the Black Prince with his help. Only weak point if you can call it that, was brakes could fail quite easily if over used. Thanks for posting, don't get many enclosed Vinnys on here, or the naked "D"s.

That's fantastic, mate. Brings a real lump in the throat to Brit bike fans. Brilliant.

Hoping prices will fall back to affordable levels (I suspect they will)…. Then I will get out and ride the bike I wanted since I was 15 (53 now and I must be once of the last to want one ??)

I wonder what the problem is with the brakes on this one? You should be able to lock the front wheel with reasonable pressure.

Well I had a Gold Wing new, one of the first in UK. 1975. Top Speed 132mph. And Top Heavy only bike I ever had that I dropped while stationary an absolute horror imo.
