It’s how a lot of criminals got away with crimes..then caught. I believe over $10k had to be reported, but could also land you in RICO cases. But, just under $10k soon became flagged by algorithms as suspicious activity without your knowledge. I’d assume the ‘structuring’ law is there to hold criminals on a charge while they build a larger fraud, racketeering or tax evasion case. Maybe I just watch too much American Greed lol.

And you are depositing $6k daily to stay "under the limit" it's still structuring. The best thing to do is weekly deposits with amounts far below the limit and visit different branches each time.

If you haven't seen the movie based on this very wild story, I HIGHLY recommend it!! It's a comedy called Masterminds, and Zach Galafianakis kills it the role of David. Hilarious, full of quotable lines and memorable scenes, and always a great rewatch. With that said, I thoroughly enjoyed this retelling, and hats off to the animator!

The dumbest thing was that Kelly should have been the first to have a hit placed on them. She coulda been their fall guy. The rest of em had no connection with her so if she died she couldn’t say anything to the cops. After that they could have killed David.
