If I saw Joel in person walking around “hometown random city” America I’m not sure what I would do. Because I would be confused trying to match the voice to the face. And I’m sure I would second guess myself and try to think of some way to test the water first, like very quietly saying “AGGA” or “Granddad” and seeing if he would react.

that might be the reason Joel keeps his face hidden.

Imagine you're a New Yorker, walkn' down the street everyday like you usually do on your way to work. But on your way to work, you see a CD case entitled "Super Ghostbusters" with an album cover that *kinda* looks like the Ghostbusters logo and a Great Value sticker at the bottom. Would you pick it up? Would you feel entitled to pick it up? Would this be your only chance to get it? What's on the CD? Music? Pirated music? You can only imagine what's racing through the mind of the person who dared pick up that case and brought it home thinking it might be the only disc copy available on the planet Earth.

That moment with the...local cuisine guides was such a trip. I used to live on Long Island, and I worked construction in NYC for a few years; I've since moved to the South, and don't get to interact with characters like that anymore. Seeing Joel connect with friends he's known for years but never got to meet, while also getting a taste of home in some of those clips, was a delightfully heartwarming surprise.
