Did you know that Jakks Pacific devices usually have their debug modes hidden behind a simple button combo? Just like the years that the games look like they're from! In most (but not all) cases, it is as follows: on the Jakks Pacific screen, hold *up,* press *A,* then release *up* to press *down.* Weirdly, these debug modes resemble the ones you'd find on arcade machines more than anything else.

Plug and Plague returns! 'Plug and Play' consoles were a big part of my childhood. They introduced me to video games before I knew what video games are. I had a bunch of 'Plug and Play' consoles: Dora the Explorer, Nicktoons Summer Camp, Spongebob Squarepants, Care Bears, Classic Arcade Pinball, Intellivision, Spider-Man, World Poker Tour (which sucks for a person who knows nothing about poker), Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Winnie the Pooh: Piglet's Special Day, Disney TV Game (the one with the Aladdin game), Hannah Montana: One in a Million, and High School Musical: All Together Now. There were ones at thrift stores I wanted like the Batman, Fantastic 4, and Wheel of Fortune while being confused by how the Dream Life console even works (unaware that there is supposed to be a controller included with the console.) My top 5 favourite ‘Plug and Play’ TV games are Spider-Man, Star Wars, Spongebob, Pinball, and Intellivision. Seeing that some of the TV games can be emulated is amazing. Glad to see that there is a way to play these without spending like $30 on a physical controller. Too bad I suck at setting up MAME, but at least these TV games are preserved. Now if there is a way to get GameKeys preserved as well, that would be excellent.

If you want to use MAME I strongly recommend MAMEUI, it's a lot easier to configure, navigate, and add games (just drop the game zip files in the roms folder) compared to normal MAME and it has support for Plug and Plays. If you're wondering about why some devices bring up another selection screen, most of these later Plug and Play consoles Jakks Pacific released had slots for "Gamekeys", expansion addons that plugged into a Plug and Play console that contained extra games.

I lost it and searched for years for the epileptic game, even the console and got absolutely nowhere- I was convinced it was all a fever dream. UNTIL 2020, my mom found the console in the attic. There are indeed many more minigames, and I think you could have gone through them all on that training mode you had chosen first. We actually enjoyed it well enough and had at least some fun with it, but that's probably because of our situation. You see, my parents are from northern Maine but moved to Virginia, so when going to visit, it is a VERY looong car ride allll the way up to Maine. The problem with the MCU is it fell victim to the same damn problem as the Marvel comics: Crossover specials run amok. Marvel and DC for the past decade have had really bad problems where comics have crossovers that last for like half the run. This means unless you're buying five books at once characters from the series you're reading disappear or other characters from other series get introduced with no explanation. Wonder Woman was really *really* bad about this for the longest time, especially around the Infinite Crisis era where every DC book became all about Batman. And it happened with the Hulk so much that he entirely lost his own series and *his own identity* for four entire years until Immortal Hulk came along. I stopped reading comics for decade because of stupid crap like that and got into manga instead because at least most manga are self-contained.
