Voice actors also include *Laura Bailey* (Critical Role/Last of Us Part II/Mary Jane for Spiderman 2018), *Christopher Sabat* (Vegeta/Piccolo/Yamcha), *Josh Martin* (Majin Buu), *Chris Rager* (Mr. Satan), and *Daemon Clarke* (Handsome Jack), just to name a few. This talk radio was some the funniest shit I've ever heard in a game, you can really tell they just let the VAs loose to do whatever. I just get good vibes cause you know they had fun making it. Usually crude humor just for it's own sake kinda falls flat for me (with a few big exceptions), but they really pushed it into straight insanity. The tornado bit is exactly the type of thing type of thing I wanna hear in a GTA-type game, and the satire is the type of thing that it seems no-one is capable of making nowadays (both legit funny, and not sounding like it was written by someone seething). The 2000s was a dumb time, but as I get older, I really do appreciate and have nostalgia for the dumb, unapologetic edginess. Give me sleazy Italian stereotypes talking about getting head in a tornado, and/or Shadow the Hedgehog unironic Hot Topic angst, over Joss Whedon quips and references, "OH MY GOD DID THAT JUST HAPPEN" overly self-aware insecure people humour, and "Man was the true monster all along, war bad" any day of the fucking week.

To think that the devs of this would go on to make the genuinely great Ghostbusters video game (so great, I treat it as the unofficial third film), and bloody Kinect Star Wars of all things. Still surprised people find that word that offensive
@chronotiger11 ай бұрын
@@Norwegian_Jesus I mean, yes, prejudice requires a colloquial vehicle in order to exist and be spread. Hardly surprising to realize that some labels have histories of hellish pain - countless forms torture and abuses, forced sterilization like animals, denial of life-saving care, employment, and housing, dehumanization and ostracization... and that language is everything to human beings, so there's no rationale to using hate-filled words with not a single positive connotation over the dozens of alternatives, any of which would be more accurate anyway... Obviously you'll be deadset to double down and disagree because ~edge~ and of course sympathy is for SJWs (SJW= anyone who claims that words mean things) but hey, the empty space was begging for some common sense xD ain't got time for pointless debates these days tho so treat this like a billboard, yell in its general direction, and drive along I guess lol
@Norwegian_Jesus9 ай бұрын
@@chronotiger Yes I get it, I can't say any word besides the one's that are acceptable, you can never joke about anything, everything is hateful everything is bad blah blah blah. I am not interested in hearing about moral compasses. It's a satirical piece of media from 2003. Context matters in terms of words but it seems like people nowadays wants to ban every single word that is negative no matter the context. What the hell is the point in partaking in society if everyone is going to be offended about everything. Your reply comes off as if you wrote like ChatGPT. I find it more dangerous that people like you will cancel and ban things for being hateful no matter the context rather than being open for words being used in certain contexts to display insane satirical media for satire's sake. While there might be actual people who agrees with these words it does not mean it CAUSES people to think this way. Most people are able to think somewhat with common sense to know ''this is just a piece of media towing the line that's all'', the satire here does not try to come off as ''hateful'' compared to let's say a speech from Adolf himself in 1944 And you mentioning I'm deadset on not hearing the other side? People like you are never interested in hearing the other arguement either so お互い様 as they say. Seriously, I'm really fucking tired of people like you. why do you guys have to get offended over absolutely everything? P.S, regarding sympathy. Belittling someone upfront regarding their disabilities or mental issues is a line I don't tow and find that degenerate. Actually insulting and harassing someone for their issues or in-born traits is an asshole and even psychopathic thing to do so yes I have some humanity and no that does not mean I am not allowed to like dark humor. It means context matters.
@chronotiger9 ай бұрын
@@Norwegian_JesusAs yes, ALL "humor" (byword for slurs apparently) is ILL EAGLE, just like I definitely said. Rational conclusion from a mature person who apparently wasn't around in 2003 to learn that people were dead serious about loathing autistics so frequently and openly that it was entirely socially accepted. Context? Well, here it's that a streamer was put off by a slur in an older game, and someone in the comments naturally had to act like a hardass about it. What a BAMF to argue til their last breath for the right to use language that is shown to influence people's behaviors for the worse. Same boat? Not even the same ocean. Dark humor is so much more rich, clever, and appealing than simple slur usage. And yes, it's about muh feewings of ~offense~ rather than the normalization of inappropriate colloquialisms that are proven to drive people's treatment of others, naturally. You could miss the forest for a bonsai tree. Why do "you guys" have to be so dense? "Suh uffended!" is all you can say to any social issue that affects a vulnerable minority, even ones where people with PhDs have given us all the proof we need of how they operate. Incredible work, have a nice day xD I guess you can keep telling yourself that it's best to wait until your toes are peeking over that line to consider knowing when it's prudent to stop, and to use dehumanizing language so long as on a deep level, you don't aaaactually condone what it encourages. That definitely absolves you of how the outer world interprets and reacts. Most interesting is how you did toe the line of insulting and belittling "mental issues" right there in your comment, yet you didn't even notice it. That's how this works, the normalization of this type of communication of concepts; it comes out of us, out of our innermost thoughts, already learned and never analyzed for what it is, what it conveys or communicates about the people we're discussing. The associations that undeniably affect our conduct and attitudes. Don't get me wrong - It's preferable to society that socios squawk loud and clear about their distaste for "you people", and empathy and "moral compasses", so the better-adjusted among us can avoid them. Side effect being that the socios band together and enable each-other to heightening degrees like daredevils, but hey, at least they form their own walking quarantine zone. Hell, maybe you'll grow out of it, as if you truly do find any of those behaviors degenerate, you'll quickly learn how "dangerous" your selfsame company is.

Might just be one of my all time favorite games. Bought it for the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox, played through each of them multiple times. And it turns out it was made locally - made by Midway in Mesquite, TX. The radio stations and voice actors were from a Dallas comedy troupe, too. I always switch the radio to Gear Talk. Hearing them discuss which kind of land mine to blow up local children that ring people's door bells and run away never gets old. Plus, they discuss all the weaponry in the game so you can subtly learn about the stuff you can unlock. Including a type of mine that they must have removed from the game after the audio was recorded. I really wish they could have put out a sequel to this game, but I'm guessing it wasn't a huge seller, and Midway Mesquite ended up closing down. Loved everything about this game, from the driving to the mission structure. Might just be the height of the vehicular combat genre in my opinion.
