It was a vaguely decent game back in release, then it was hated a few years later, now it's a nostalgic piece of 90's jank. It's not good, but weirdly charming nonetheless. The OST has been on my gym play list for about 14 years now. "Work it out" while doing pushups is good stuff.

Some of those folks who want retro Sonic kart racing would do well to have a look at SRB2K, but that's about that. I personally enjoy watching people play Sonic '06 which, while more complex, is also a certifiably much more flawed game than Sonic R.
