It will take atleast 100 years to produce a guitar player like vinnie moore .Finest ,the most articulated guitar player of all time. I am following him since 80's

Been a fan of Vin’s since ‘87. Always loved that he evolves. I remember being surprised upon first listen of Time Odyssey, after binging on Mind’s Eye the previous year. Pieces of a Picture was as impactful to me as was Shadows of Yesterday.

Jamie you’re tracking my fave players! My favourite Vinnie album is Time Odyssey, much of it is a genuinely unique combination of progressive/almost cinematic themes alongside the neo-classical. Morning Star and Message In A Dream in particular sound almost like a complete new genre. Wish he’d go back to this and record a whole album developing this approach!

Great interview! I was in high school when Mind’s Eye came out, it was neck and neck as whether it would inspire me, or leave me in despair. 🙂 I’m glad I stuck with it!

My favourite guitarist and I’ve still never seen him live. I was absolutely gutted when Vinnie wasn’t on the European leg of the Alice Tour. This was well before the internet and I had tickets for the gig, was really excited to see vinnie and when the band came out it wasn’t him ☹️. Took me a few songs to get over that disappointment.

Great interview! I always wondered how VM came about composing in a neo-classical style. Been messing around with "Morning Star" lately and I'm like, "Fuck, these are cool classical licks! Wasn't this from a 20-something y/o guy from Philly? lol" A testament to what a rare gem VM is to guitar playing. I know that was part of the shredder requirement back then but, his take, to me, was better than most. On the Alice Cooper period, isn't there the teeniest, tiniest chance, being VM and AC were under the same parent-label that AC was able to get Meltdown pushed out to October of that year so it would make the decision easier for VM to join the tour AND that the plan was ALWAYS to tour in Europe? To this day, VM doesn't seem to know the reason Meltdown was delayed. They never gave him one. idk, I don't believe in sheer coincidences when comes to business decisions.

Some may say that Vinnie copied Yngwie with the neoclassical stuff. But if you listen to Rising Force and Mind's Eye, they have completely different styles of playing and composing. Both amazing albums though!

It’s all spans back to Richie Blackmore and Uli Jon Roth.. both Yngwie and Vinnie are great!!
