I was gonna say "Wow, they didn't speedrun-proof their contest," but it occurred to me they probably run those commercials and sell those bottles even after the contests have actually ended. I guess it doesn't matter to them if a few kids scam them out of a gamecube, the dumb ones will still actually buy a whole gamecube's-worth of Dr. Pepper trying to win that gamecube. The contest pays for itself within 100 hooked little repeat customers who also want a gamecube in addition to their next hit. For every one kid smart enough to play the system, there are ten thousand more playing along. While you did that, ten thousand other kids ended up like Fry trying to win that Slurm contest and losing all of his teeth (and probably limbs).

Back in 2000, I may or may not have stolen a kid's Lunchables box that had a first prize winner for Hitclips: a boom box shaped player, a crappy portable player, and an alarm clock that can fit a bunch of the Hitclips cartridges as well as 5 of the Hitclips cartridges themselves. When I showed it to Mom, she asked me where I found it and if I stole it; I technically found it just laying around on the ground in music class and nobody fussed at me for picking it up and grabbing it, so I said that I didn't steal it. Eventually, she mailed it in for the prizes, and about six weeks later, I got all the stuff delivered to me. I have no clue what happened to all of it, but even as a kid, I thought they were kind of disappointing lol. At least the alarm clock did the job.
