2:19:19 the energy drink is actually not a generic one, but a Ukrainian one called Non-Stop Energy. I live in Ukraine and we even have official special editions of the drink with Stalker 2 artwork on them and special flavours. We have 2 of the special flavours, with one of them being decent, but the other one being really good (light fruity flavour of sorts) and probably one of the smoothest carbonated drinks out there.

Reminds me of that one part in ATOM RPG, where you go into this complex and explore it, then on the way out you get ambushed by OP bandits (who greeted you with a friendly guise before you go in to loot the place) who take all your stuff (you can fight them, but they will most likely hand your ass to you). You can drop all of your stuff before going back out, but the bandits get wise and are like "HEY WHERE'S ALL YOUR SHIT?!". You can only stash so much stuff in that place before they get suspicious, neat attention to detail.

Fun seeing how the HL2 dev commentary stuff is subtly influencing some of his playtesting, deciding to endlessly bounce bolts off of a guys head into a bucket was just fun nonsense. Chernobylite was a cool rough AA title, I liked that it wasn't open world, but had an almost XCOM like structure, days advancing, tech upgrades, Zone threats, with some Mass Effect 2 suicide mission influences, in a sort of Terminator Resistance light-survival horror RPG-FPS framework. It's a shame the sequel is planning to got for a more generic open-world survival-crafting-coop setup, I liked the enclosed maps and mission-a-day cycle. This has been a comfort VOD. My 23 year old bird died today and I needed something else to think about for a bit.

I'm over 3 hours into this myself and I'm enjoying it, minus the frame rate drops here and there. I can feel like I'm going to get heavily absorbed into STALKER 2 as much as I did with the previous STALKER games. Also, they throw an insane amount of medkits at you in the start of this game, even on Veteran difficulty.

Medkits are pretty much never an issue in Veteran since you find tons in all of the combat areas, only issue is using them mid combat depending on the fight is a death sentence so having lots doesn't matter.

I've played every Stalker on Master but somehow Stalker 2 feels hard as cock. I haven't completely run out of medkits but I've come closer than I ever did in SoC or CoP. CS is a different story because you play as a hemophiliac in that one.

I'm starting to hate UE5 and i mean hate hate... Look how Metro Exodus looks, that game looks fucking amazing and it even ran on my RTX 2060 laptop flawless and on my current RTX 2080S deskop i can play that game ultra with ray tracing above 60 fps. Most modern games don't have anything to justify the framerate loss. 2018 games just look as good if not better than 2024 games and run twice as good, change my mind.

DLSS/FSR and Frame Generation used to be this "Hey you need a little boost?" type of thing and now it's a "This game REQUIRES FRAME GENERATION IF YOU WANT THE GAME PLAYABLE ON YOUR SOFTWARE THAT COSTS THOUSANDS" Remember when good looking games ran good natively without any AI shenanigans? The key to optimization is finding the perfect balance between how good the game looks and how good the game runs. Developers nowdays will for example sacrifice +40% framerate for +10% visual increase. Same goes for disk space, hundreds of more gigabytes just for a tiny texture difference. I'm just wandering who tests these games when developing them? Are they running them on prototype RTX 5090's??? Cause how can you make a game, test it yourself and say "Ahh 20fps, this is great! people will love it!" I really wanna buy this game, but i'm gonna give it a few months and wait for patches or community mods, i just don't wish to play a game that has trouble running on my PC and i won't buy a new PC to excuse these shitty optimization problems cause a lot of great looking games like RDR2 or Cyberpunk run very well on my system.

The optional artifact hunt after retrieving the guy's body was a certified BOOTIPLS moment. In my eyes I see bolts as a means to make anomalies easier to see or get an idea of where they are, NOT to deactivate them (primarily). They respawn in like two seconds so if you're flinging bolts like mad you stand a good chance of losing track of where the anomalies were and standing in one as it comes back. Obviously sometimes you need to deactivate one and time your movement, but for anomaly fields like this you can maneuver around them most of the time.

Getting super steady frames above 60 with all Highs, Textures on Ultra, DLSS and Frame Gen on. Only time I dip get is in Zalissya for some weird reason. Lots of people shitting on this game, if you can run it, its an amazing time.
