My dad’s family is from Italy. He started letting us drink a little wine at Sunday dinners when we were about 11-13. All of us are in our 30s now. We all enjoy drinking now and then recreationally, but none of us have ever had a problem with booze. Exposure can be good lol

Bill Hader is doing a perfect job of imitating the stereotypical Italian man. Especially the bambino part. I know this from friends who treat their 25 year olds the same way

omarrahman88 I bet the son is 30. In Italy we are always sons and daughters, even when we are 60 years old. My grandmother calls my mother and aunts "Little ladies" even if they are old and she's not insane yet.

@@poranekthebest Yeah, and this is why (Latin people) don't put our elderly in nursing homes (except for rare cases - eg. Ilness) and care for them till the end of their lives. It is the right way. You don't have to follow the Bible word by word (I'm Christian but I don't go to church no more than two times a year), but the Book is good as a moral tool regulating this crazy today's world.

A lot of Italian tv hosts will still talk to international guests in Italian a lot of the time though. Like that's tragically accurate. Sure, nowadays guests will have an earpiece with a translator working for them (and a few years back there was literally a translator standing by them) but this is absolutely accurate in the way that Italian tv personalities just refuse to learn and use English, pretty much exclusively old ones. Nowadays young hosts can absolutely carry on an interview in English, but most hosts who are older than 40 still just speak Italian to their guests and rely on translators to assist.

Always amazed at how bill acts in this one. Unlike the usual sketches, this one must not have a full script for his part so he's mostly improvising his italian im guessing. It's of course mocking italian but still doing it seamlessly
